Well, they probably made the cutscene before they made the DLC which made the dress available

No doubt.

Personally, my I never had my femsheps wearing that dress outside Kasumi's mission, so it wasn't an issue.

Right. So imagine that every 15 seconds there is an animation of your PC picking their nose intensely. Would you consider that to be minor?

Right because something gross and disgusting is totally comparable to a hip sway animation.

Female Hawke's run animations were bad enough on their own, but on Aveline they looked even worse.

If Cassandra runs like that in Inquisition I will not be happy.

Well, if Vivienne's hip swaying in the PAX demo is any indication...

Yeah, I hope the swaying has been toned down a bit.

But really, who doesn't close their legs when sitting in a incredibly short skirt?

I could only imagine stupid folks. I'm not a girl, but It is only logical to adapt your style to the short skirt while being in the party, whether you happen to be a soldier or not. Otherwise that's just stupid except if you wear something else below. So I don't accept the " it makes sense for shepard. "

No my femshep isnt' that stupid. She could be very uncomfortable in that dress, ( kasumi chose for her ) I agree, but she would obviously learn to close quickly her legs lol.

In short, that was horrible.

I wouldn't mind Vivienne having a sway in her hips, she's seems like she's going to be such a sassy character that she'd actually be able to pull it off without it seeming odd. Cassandra on the other hand, can't see it in her character to be swaying her money maker all over Thedas.

When femHawke ran, I half expected her butt to fly up and smack the back

of her head while her breasts knocked her teeth out from the front.

So no, I don't want to see that return.

Othewise that's just stupid to wear a mini-skirt,except if you wear something else below. So I don't accept the " it makes sense for shepard. "

Shepard in a tight as hell mini dress, sitting with her legs open reminds me of that movie Basic Instinct w Sharon Stone and my Commander Shepard is definitely not trying to be that.

Well, Cassandra didn't sway her hips that much in the demo. I'm just wondering how the Inquisitor's animations will look (more like Vivienne or more like Cassandra's or maybe even different from those 2)...

Gosh, I remember that silly sitting animation on FemShep. Sitting like that when not wearing a short dress is fine, but in a short dress? Gurrrl, nobody wants to see yo undies. Well, hopefully undies.

A little more attention paid to female player-characters would be nice. At least differing animations if necessary, please.

and man this thread gained a few pages while I was sleepin'

It's not really a solution though because the problem is still there no matter what.

Lmao, that she did, my friend, that she did. ;)

True, never thought it fit my Shep's character... Why on earth would you be strutting around your ship, in front of your crew, in your best little black dress anyway?

But, back onto the topic at hand—because I kind of feel like I'm responsible for slightly de-railing this thread. In the least, I do hope they take in consideration the walk/run animations depending on the armour your PC is wearing, you can not sway those hips in a full suit of plate armour ladies...

But how would we evoke femininity? The over exaggerated hip swaying was ridiculous, but I

liked the dress/robes. Without the DLC it was essentially, multiple recolors of the same outfit

though, but it was something. Pity the home wear was garbage by comparison.

(I mean DA2 not Mass Effect)

If Bioware gives another dress like that, they should think about that kind of stuff. That's the obvious solution. What people choose to do with their character is up to them. I have many shepard, and I have one who could like that dress.

That black dress was ugly! But I think her shoes were even uglier.

Holy.. Walk isn't a thing that has a gender attached to it. It's like saying ''Blinking like men'' or '' breathing like men''.

Actually women do tend to have a different walk than men due to the position of the hips; which tend to be wider. Of course you could say that everyone has a slightly different walk to everyone else as a walk depends on the width of the hips and length of the legs.  Lady Hawke's walk was silly but at least it was a different animation to Male Hawke.

I can't tell you how annoying it was to see Femshep sit down with her legs wide open and hand dangling between them - it was ever worse when she wore a dress and her hand went right through the bottom of the dress when she sat down.

maxresdefault.jpg

Do women always sit with their legs closed? - no of course not; but that was ridiculous because it was so obviously just the male shep animation

If it didn't have the N7 feel to it and I wish it had been shorter ;)

Ok, lets try to leave the drab, potato sack fashions of Mass Effect to the Mass Effect boards (Because dear gawd, we could all probably discuss that at great lengths).

How about a female walking and running animation similar to the one in Skyrim? I never really noticed anything too jarring about it when I was playing and it felt different enough from the male animation without it being overly sexualised.

Yes, the walk is bad. No, it's not going to stop me from playing a female.

I love how I immediately knew what this topic would be about just by reading the title. That's how exaggerated that hip movement was. XD

See, that walk actually annoys me more.

I vote toggle.
