Its distinctively female, but some would prefer something less exaggerated and more plausible in heavy plate armor.
I can appreciate that. I think it certainly can be altered, I just don't want a regression to the male strut.

I don't think anyone's arguing that the strut wasn't sexy. Well, I'm sure some people didn't find it sexy, but that's not the point. The point is that the Inquisitor is stabbing demons, not performing at a fashion show.
Edit: actually, we almost never walk in these games. If the running animation's reasonable, a strut for a walk wouldn't bother me much. I wouldn't ever see it
I like to stab my demons as if performing in a fashion show ![]()
seriously though, I do.
but I agree, I didn't really like the run for f!hawke, I wouldn't mind if we just had the strut for a walk and a less strutting run.
Be glad BioWare hasn't decided to give medieval high heels.

Agreed.

Hey now, my lady Qunari Inquisitor would love some fancy heels, to stab into the eyes of her fallen foes...
The Tomb Raider animation does look pretty nice, it's feminine without it being overly exaggerated.
Aveline de Grandpre's from Assassin's Creed walk and run animations are realistic and feminine, but I'm having a hard time finding a good clip.
I think ppl tend to exaggerate a lil bit when it comes to the fem Hawke's walk.. it wasn't really "super model"/"catwalk" type of thing, and I think ppl use the word "sexuialization" wayyy too loosely now a days...-shrugs-
DA2 > DAO. I loved Hawke's sashay and certainly don't get the complaints I've read about it. I'm aware not all females walk the same way, but DA2 giving us a distinct female rig was a million times improved over the standard male rig.
I guess I'm used to ME1, because femWarden's walk is pretty much the same so I didn't really give it much notice. I didn't dislike the swaying walk, but the run is fairly problematic. It's really the arms. If only Hawke could just move her arms differently and maybe not dangle her hands as she ran.
I'd like that because it displays the difference between two genders. Male and female should have some unique differences.

I'm all for different animations for male and female, but different =/= ridiculous-looking.
I'm all for different male and female animations—be they hip-swishy or no, I'll always appreciate the attention to detail on that part.
But like I mentioned in one of my previous posts, it become more of a pet peeve when the continuity stops at the cutscenes and females just take on the stock male animation. I know it would be pretty labour intensive to change every single cutscene our PC has depending on our choice of gender, but I would appreciate just a little effort in that department.
Also I don't want to crush your dreams, but Bioware hates one word : Toggle.
Monetize it
Bioware may like it then..
I am a believer in the concept "you get what you pay for".
I find that Skyrim Walk vid fascinating.
Several like it. I'd prefer the DA2 walk and stand pose by far - if i had to choose.
Bit of flair and movement.
So far I've been happy with most of Bioware's movements for f chars (ME and DA2), except DAO.
Makes it actually harder to replay DAO.

As much as I would like to agree with this, and I really would, because that's my pref as well,
in the end though, I stand back and say how many other Studios give us the choice of gender and outfits already with this level of depth and replayablilty?
Witcher? no.
Assassins Creed? no
halo? no
Gears of War? No.
Bioshock? No
Last of Us? No.
I personally stand back and appreciate deeply what Bioware provides already and for the same price.
Hawke better serve that antm realness, Tyra would be proud.

Ah, I know... I just can't help but go a little Oliver Twist over what Bioware offers sometimes. "Please, sir... I just want some moooore." I should just be glad that we're getting a Dragon Age game, hell, I should be even more grateful that we're able to choose our gender.
We always seem want everything, plus so much more, that we more often than not, can't actually see what we have.
(But it should be ok to be a just tad bit nitpicky, now and again, right?
)

Yup! Only a true inquisitor will survive if s/he is nitpicky!
Bioware probably likes occasional Olivia/Oliver Twisting.
Maybe we are too passive? LOL!

Wow. She has an undercurrent of strength. Stexy!
I'd pay for that toggle option. $10 DLC. Sound fair?

If my Inquisitor could do this after every major kill/decision I would probably buy a second copy.
The perverse side of me says, "Yes."
The serious side of me says, "No."
All I can really note is that such an animation would be quite unfitting on Kossith females.
Hopefully they'll have more of a Mass Effect femshep animation.
As having a gorilla stuck up their butt sounds notably like them, in behaviour.
I'd buy triple if I that also includes a fabulous hair flip.
Only if you could do it as a m!inquistor too, because let's face it, who doesn't love a sassy Jamie Lannister that just flipped his hair in the face of a giant Qunari

You are creating movies in my mind all of a sudden.
You are BAD. More please. On second thought, maybe--

What does the gamer side say? You don't really play games in serious mode, or?
There is one Kossith female image i ran across that would totally fit with that animation. It's that good.
@Kateish
I'm seriously impressed how you keep pulling up fitting vids. Well done!
I get that woman don't want a swaying walk but what does a natural woman walk look like to you. and don't say like a man's cause I know enough to know that's not true.
