I'd like to have an option for eye shadow and lip color for male characters. I'm sure this is a controversial topic, as some wouldn't want the option, and others would. This proposal is simple enough and doesn't really require much explanation.

What are your thoughts?

Edit:

I pulled up this from my copy of The World of Thedas Volume 1:

"Wearing makeup is another popular tradition for both men and women in Orlais. Even chevaliers may wear cosmetics. There is both masculine and feminine makeup, although outsiders may have trouble telling the difference. Makeup can be a strong indicator of social standing. The quality and rarity of one's makeup- uncommon hues and consistencies are prized- speak volumes of one's status."

Eh, okay it's not that important to be.  I see it for the Olresians at the very least.

Sure, why not. Anything that helps me further customize my characters is a welcome addition to the CC.

I think it would be a great way to make my mark on my characters. A large reason why I keep using females in my DA:O playthroughs is that the females have the option for eye and lip color: a way to further personalize my character. I'd love to be able to do the same with males.

I want to be able to use a nice, thin, but very visible eyeliner.

Eyeshadow is barely visible unless you turn it to max, and then it covers too much.

I don't see why not. Actually all cc option must be open for both genders. I don't understand why it isn't . I want my male character long hair. I want male version of Bayonetta cool magic armour maid form my hair.  Saints row did it perfect not hair armour stuff but cc. Bioware talk about equality and stuff but then it comes to most important stuff cc they restrict options based on gender. So yes I fully support you even if I don't care about make up but I like cool war paints, like Hawke nose blood line.

I support this idea. More diversity and options is always a good thing in regards to character creation, regardless of gender.

Yeah, I agree. Options like that should be open to everyone. I also wanted for a few of my dude Hawkes to have eye colour and lipstick and blush. So, yes. Please. More options. I'd also like dudes to have nicer nose and eyebrow options. Just because they're dudes, doesn't mean they have to have big and unweildy noses and eyebrows.

I would never use this feature but YEAH I support it!! And why not?? It's not like every male PC would be forced to wear bright red lipstick. It should be an option, there for the taking if you want it.

I agree that it would be nice to have the option. I might well never use it (I don't really use those options on female characters either), but being able to create a wider range of characters is always good.

I'd also like to have equal scars, large noses, and so forth for female characters, and the same types of hair for both. Basically, I would say that any character concept should be able to made either as male or as female, with no other change than that they are male or female.

I want scars and blind eyes for my character more than this, but why not?

Male actors and news reporter use make ups or they will look so ugly in movies and TV....so why not?

No they would just look as they normally look
but someone is still seriously confusing modeling with TV news

Absolutely.  There's no reason for gender-specific restrictions in character creation.

Even beards?

Do you have an argument to restrict beards by gender?  I don't.  Why would I want the game to tell the players that they cannot play a certain way?

I would really like makeup options for male characters as long as you can set the color and opacity like on SR4 and Sims 3. Even if you don't want them to look like a drag queen (and I don't) makeup in a darker shade of the same skintone can give the face more depth. EX:

Both of these have eyeshadow, eyeliner, blush, and lip color.
