I use to never equip before searching because I would leave a game in progress 100% of the time.  Now though, it's damn near impossible to hit a lobby vs a game in progress, so I'll toss on level 1 gear.  I will spend a half an hour to an hour though searching and leaving games in progress before finally giving up looking for a lobby though. 

 

If it's before the initial credit wave I'll stay, if it is wave 1 and only mr impaitent I'll stay long enough to let them die then leave (you started solo so I guess you want a solo, I aint firing my gun or helping till at least 1 other person also joins).  I hate impaitent people. IF you *HAVE* to be host, you better damn well *HAVE* patience too.

Yeah, level 1 and 2 stuff, or level 3 if I have a tonne of it. I'll re-quip in the lobby, if I land in one.

I've been pugging platinum lately. But I refuse to equip anything before I get in a lobby. I will not use equipment on some missile glitching game.

I only PUG Gold mind you, but I always fully gear up. If I were to PUG Plat I'd probably wait till the lobby, or put on things I won't miss.

I used to always gear up before searching, but have since changed my opinion on it.

 

I now leave GIPs .. I like to see the lobby before a match so I can select a kit and consumables which may be appropriate (or at least won't make a situation where teammates are working at cross purposes)

 

I never kick players from lobbies (unless an MGer) .. but I want to be sure there are no shenanagans happening ..

 

I don't want to commit to a match which may take upwards of half an hour without be properly prepared ..

I don't. I'm running low on a lot of consumables so I'm at the point to where I will leave a slot blank when playing with pugs.

I personally do. My intention is to play so I put gear on first so if I get dropped into a game I'm prepared. I almost prefer to get dropped into a in-progress game than lobby most of the time. I would rather not know what everyone is using or lack there of. I would rather not know how bad or good my team appears, I will figure it out on the fly. I don't pug platinum so I'm speaking from a gold or lower difficulty point of view. I'm interested in hearing your replies!

Unfortunately, you are addressing the wrong crowd (maxed out consumables(255), 25 million credits, et al) and I'd say there's is lack of a medium to address the real culprits(unless you have a mic but why bother). I host my own game most of the time(typical White/Cerberus/Gold) and I can say categorically that most PUGS don't come with consumables due to the fact that when they go down, they don't get up "at all" unless you revive them, then they go down again. So now I just ignore and do my thing unless it's someone I recognise from before(who probably makes an effort). Then missiles, at a point I thought probably the store stopped giving missiles but not if you get a jumbo pack. I have been guilty once or twice of starting a game without missiles but that was just an omission on my part by not realising I had run out of missiles.

Anyway, lately I don't even care anymore if I really want to finish a game then I use my solo expert (DI) otherwise just have some fun and all go down together... whatever! we can all get comfy on the ground and bleed out...

NEVER. If the lobby I join is too impatient to let me switch mods around to better complement the group they were going to die anyway. Not worth my time.

No I'm addressing the crowd I wanted to hear from. And I'm getting to hear their reasons for gearing and not gearing up. As for pug most of them don't have feelings so I expect them to be useless and when one isn't they get a GG msg.

Why not, I am loaded with lvl 1-2 consumables so I equip them before entering a Quick match. I do not really like dropping into matches but I will stay around in Gold matches if everything looks fine. I rarely stay in any games I drop in on Plat. because of MGs and Rio/Giant farming.

I gear up before I search. If I lose it, I lose it. Since games are so hard to find these days, I usually will stay in a GIP even if there are bodies on the ground on wave 1, provided I'm not surrounded at LZ when I finally can see what's going on.

Yes.That way I am already to go. If I join a game in progress it's usually on wave one so they don't go to waste.

I always put Level I consumables and a gear on before searching. I do this because if I land in a match that's almost over, I don't feel like I've "wasted" Level III/IV equipment, but I also at least have something with a little better kick to it than naked.

 

If I land in a lobby, then I will switch from Level I to Level III/IV equipment.

I want to be prepared if I get a game in progress. Leaving every one of them would get extremely tedious.
