My quote? Well, when I read that the line that instantly came to my mind for my canon Shepard was:

 

"She gets the job done no matter the cost."

 

That line from Anderson in ME1's prologue sums her up. She's practical. She doesn't take idealistic risks that could jeapordize the mission and galaxy.

 

Yet she's a good person deep down. She's selfless and would never harm an innocent but would sacrifice one or many for the greater good if forced to choose. Her mission is always her priority even before the one person that really matters to her (Liara) and would sacrifice herself without hesitation if it was her best use for the galaxy's sake.
