@Bob from Accounting

I was just wondering. What quote best describes your Shepard or Shepards?

I'm Bob. From Accounting. I've been to gun ranges.

But of course you are.

EDIT: Damn, took long enough to get the picture to show up.

Who wants to bet David has never set foot in a gun range in his life?

Haha, I doubt it.  He's probably just a victim of his own statements in the past; talks big and talks down to people on the net, probably a shy squeamish person in real life.

Just because you are expendable does not mean you can't be useful. You have to learn the difference between spending lives and wasting lives. They're a resource to be exploited, and like any economical person, I don't waste my resources.

You sound like General Castor.  Very practical man him.

You know, it's not like going to gun range is an act of bravery. You don't have to fight a bouncer and stare down the owner to get in. They're happy to take your money.

So if I was 'talking big' I'd probably choose something else.

I don't really have one in mind.

Yes, I know that all too well. And I completely disagree with the RoE. But my opinions on American Military Policy are for a different time and place. Suffice to say, we're too obsessed with being the 'good guy'. And I know full well how damaging it would be to my career to ever voice my opinions.

yeah but youre keeping up this false persona. youre entitled to your own word its just lame, imo.

You sound like General Castor. Very practical man him.

He reminds me of Major Standish from that iLoveBees viral marketing gig for Halo 2.

Herzog: "Principles are results. They're an end in themselves."
Standish: "No. Results are results."

(Granted, Standish was overly-eager to *cough* discard resources in the interest of maintaining secrecy. Wasteful, that.)

I'm reminded of gun advocates I've seen who defend themselves by declaring that 'America has become a nation of sheep,' who make serious claims that China or Korea or Russia or something is going to attack any day now and it's going to be up to them to hold the line, who speak as if they're going to be mugged or attacked every day and it's going to be up to them to take on the rabble. That there's a 'necessity' of owning a weapon because of that.

Unfortunately, that kind of atmosphere seems to absolutely permeate gun ranges. Just oozes from the walls. You can practically smell it. The desperation of people who very, very badly want to be attacked and have their skill be made 'necessary.'

It's not hard to figure out. 'Necessity' puts them in a position of value. If it's 'necessary,' well, then they're the stalwart American defenders rising up in, as they say, 'a nation of sheep.'

Pretty much the same thing with self-proclaimed 'Renegade' players.

the 2nd amendment has nothing to do with outside forces anymore. the part that still holds true to this day is the Police State. if cops can have it then the constitution garentees i can as well.

In the absence of people to scoff at, he'll invent more.

I don't really have one in mind.

Then why are you here?

Needs some scoff drops.
