Well, the fact that currently there is no Mac version of DA:I listed leaves me distressed. There were Mac versions of DA1 & DA2. Why not now this time? 

 

I don't know why they are not doing one, nor have they clarified if maybe that means there at least still open to considering - or maybe even doing - a third party Mac port. 

 

I take the current state of information to be that "there will never be a Mac version/port ever" although of course I also take the current game state to mean that isn't necessarily the case either. 

 

Anyway, I'm hoping there will be a Mac version; failing that, yes, it would be nice to see an explanation for why they are going to make 2 console versions for 2 different systems of Xbox and Playstation, but not doing a Mac version. 

 

If there is confirmation there is never to be a Mac version, I sure hope they make the game Crossover friendly, as that would be my preferred way to run it on my Mac. No rebooting, no booting a virtual machine.

Wow, I hadn't even considered that there might not be a Mac version.

 

I will hold on to hope for a while more at least. Both DA:O and DA2 were ported by TransGaming using their Cider product. Perhaps they just haven't finalized the deal for DA:I yet.

 

I'm unsure how well Cider works with the Frostbite engine though. There's some rumors that EA/Dice are working on porting Frostbite to Mac, mostly based on a job ad about a year ago... not very substantial.

Unfortunately,

1) the current state of information - most notably on the main Inquisition page - says nothing about that there's going to be one (so it would appear no)

but

2) as nothing on the game is final, let alone a FAQ which includes the answer to the question "will there be a Mac version," I like you also hold on to hope. 

 

It seems they worked out with TransGaming getting the Mac version of DA1 out only a month and a half later, and the Mac version of DA2 out at the same time, the problem is the current lack of non-statement/non-information leaves me worried about any possibility of simultaneous release this time.
