For a history class, I had to read a graphic novel called Maus, which is a true account of a Holocaust survivor but with all characters represented as animals. (The Jews are mice, Nazis are cats, and Americans are dogs). So I thought to myself, what if the Mass Effect Trilogy could be retold with the Earth representing the galaxy? Here's what I mean:
1. This story takes place in an alternate history of World War 2, featuring the Reapers represented as the Nazi regime (or more technically, the hatred that caused societies to wipe out many great civilizations, including the Roman Empire).
2. The main alien species are represented by real life ethinc groups such as:
-- The British as the Asari
-- Arabians as the Quarians
-- Africans as the Krogan
-- Romans as the Protheans
3. All the planets would be represented as real-world locations on Earth, such as:
-- Rome as the Citadel
-- America as Earth
-- Siberia as Noveria
What do you guys think of this idea? What real life etnicities could ressemble the alien species? What real world locations can represent the various planets in the game?
