Guten Tag to all our German fans. :) To celebrate the launch of Mass Effect 2, our German EA friends are holding 2 awesome events for the German fans.

First, fans in Berlin have a chance to play Mass Effect 2 TOMORROW NIGHT!

There is a Mass Effect 2 launch event that is taking place in the Maschinenraum of Berlin’s Kulturbrauerei, Knaackstr. 97, Berlin. The event is tomorrow, January 22nd starting 6pm CET. The first visitors will get a free “Asari cocktail”, of course it is blue. Visitors will be able to play the retail version of the game on PC and Xbox 360, and they will meet Commander Shepard who will be live in person. Also invited are the whole Games Academy, so if there are people out there interested in meeting GA students/lecturers/Team Akabar modding team members there sure will be an opportunity to do so.  Everyone is welcome, fans can play the retail version of the game one week ahead the EU street day there, and this is of course all for free.

Second, there is an awesome contest only open to German fans where the grand prize is a trip for 2 to the Kenndy Space Center in Florida to take a parabolic flight. To learn more about this awesome contest, click this link for details and to enter:  http://werdeschwerelos.de/preis.php  Viel Glueck!

The only love the American fans are getting is the earlier street date. Man, I'm almost willing to fly to Germany for that.

Wow. Congrats, Germany! You guys get some awesome stuff! We here in the states just get a chance to play on the 26th. It'd be worth it for a few days if they had something like that here.

Of what I've seen over the last couple of game releases EA Germany is a quality part of the company that seems to be right on top of things. I don't know how all the county divisions of game companies work but EA Germany deserves some real Kudos.

You heard it from Chris, ladies and gentlemen. At the end of the game, Shepard travels back in time to save humanity by searching for the then-extinct humpback whales to communicate with the Reapers while his crew searches for a power source to reset the Normandy's drive core. :D

If I wouldn't live in the south of Germany, far away from Berlin, I would propably go there :)

Well, the German EA group already did a lot for Dragon Age - remember, there were at least three 4-minute long tutorial videos done by them, only accessable in German language. They are known to have a really good fan support.

Might be because Roleplaying games are more popular here in Germany than in most other countries.

You guys serve drinks at game events?! Hell would freeze over before they let us do that here in the US. Kinda makes me sad (and envious).

Nice... as I live in Berlin, I think I'll take a look. You couldn't just send other "characters" in addition to Commander Shepard, could you? Like... uhm... Miranda Lawson, Morinth or Tali'Zorah...

Please... pretty please... pretty pretty please, with sugar coating and a cherry on top???? ;-)

What I really would like to know is whether or not it is allowed to take pictures at the event.

Fanservice dictates that you should always have allot of bewbs at such events. If they put Samara on display, her Cleavage alone will sell 400k copies .

Damn it, i live in Denmark. So close, yet so far away :P

But good to see Europe getting some love, too many developers forget about us, and we need it now with the delayed CE.
