Cain your link has been posted at least twice...anyway what I saw from it the game was well played but between the high shields, immediate shield stripping, and pet with healing abilities it doesn't seem as impressive as Smooth's to me.

Why does it have to be as impressive as his solo? Can't it just be an impressive solo or do we have to compare them and argue about which one was most impressive?

 

You guys might as well discuss which religion is the right one because it will be as futile as the discussion you're having right now.

The title of the thread clearly says "Most Impressive" and I was just saying I didn't find it to be one of the "Most Impressive" Platinum solos out there. Actually, I thought his Valkyrie Gold solo was more impressive. He didn't have a problem with what I said, but you seem to be having a hissy fit.

Stentron had a sub18 solo when everybody else was scrambling for sub20 or even sub25. And he did it with devices and walking the pizza.

 

Well... The situation at the time when Stentron did his sub 18 solo was like this: noone in his right mind would have ever thought it was possible to go under 20 with any character but the Kroguard. And I mean noone. Even RJ (we all know how stubborn he is, don't we?), who according to his own words was fighting with Sten for the fastest solo time with a lot of characters, just simply gave up when he saw 17:xx. And guys, you should watch the video - that time is done with freaking devices. De-vi-ces. Anyone who has tried to solo speedrun, especially on glacier, knows what that means.

 

The Kroguard had been sub-20'd already, I think. Or anyway, Xcal did go under 17 just a few days after Sten's solo, if I recall correctly. But at the time playing the Kroguard meant playing a completely different game altogether.

 

As far as I know, my Slayer sub-20 solo was the first sub-20 solo that wasn't either Kroguard or GI, and it came several months after Sten's solo. And it took me a shitload of attempts to do that. God, looking back now I have no idea how the hell I could be bothered to do it XD.

 

And to get people who weren't around back then in the context of those days... As soon as I went sub 30, people started to congratulate me on how fast I went. Sub 30 freaking minutes. Sub 20 mins was a thing out of this world, at the time. And Sten had been sitting on 17:xx with devices for like 6 months.

 

If I were to nominate a single solo which more than any other has made ME3 MP history... I would have no doubts, it would be Sten's. The only reason I did not bring it up here is because it's gold... Although thinking back, I should have brought it up anyway

I would upload the 20:07 GI plat solo, but:

 

1. It's worse than missile glitching cause 3x Pizza

2. It's not sub20

 

I'd like to see your plat solos for any non GI kits, I only see the one GI on your channel

haha well said. I just want to see any plat solos that were impressive in any way beyond completion

I'm 99% sure that is not happening. The reason I recorded the 20:32 solo in the first place is somebody saying that the GI doesn't seem to be a factor in Platinum solos. I tried breaking sub20 later on, got to 20:07 but I can't be bothered anymore because I dislike Platinum.

It's unfortunately not on vid, but I still think the plat solo nightslasher did for the platinum themed challenge "I will destroy you" is very impressive.

Watched the whole thing. Target selection, thought out movements, spawn control/kiting, all of it made it look easy. Good job surviving for so long before needed a consumable too.

Agreed, it was a nice run. I think he used one too many missiles on wave 10 after the objective (which could have come in handy at extraction), and also he may have been able to squeeze out the extraction if he stayed near the LZ weaving around the crates to buy some time rather than try to run past the praetorian. But overall very nice.
