I have a 7z file of 110mb that contains 290 meg of data. This represents practically all the data that I have on my pc regarding spelljammer. Because I would like to restrict access of this data to only members of this group I will make it available via a dropbox shared folder. Obviously, because it is a shared folder I need someone to share it with ( ^_^). If you would like to join this shared folder please pm me.

If you are not already on dropbox but like to get your hands on this please also pm me as there is a way we can both gain extra storage on there.

My intention for this is so that we can easily share stuff related to the group while only having to upload once. So say one of you develops a module, they can upload it and someone else can download it and check for typos etc.

OK just uploaded a 7z that contains 2 versions of the same thing. I spent a couple of days gathering and typing in information relating to crystal shell system building. Let me know if this is of use.

Thanks for the planetary system documentation... Yes info on ship cristal hulls could be useful (i would love to make a shipyard!), but perhaps we need to do more down to earth things like improving the CCC SpellJammer pack first.

Interesting. I make no mention of ships, hulls or anything like in that last document. It's Crystal Shells. You know, the humungous globular things that keeps the Phlogiston separate from Wildspace

Sorry, my mistake, i was thinking of hull points, boat refitting and shipyards...

Give me a chance. I will be getting around to that in a while... I am trying to avoid having to scan entire rulebooks ( ^_^).

Ooops, my bad. I have now uploaded new version of creatures hak with corrected polymorph.2da included. Used my 2da-csv tool. 1st converted 2da to csv. Used excel to quickly renumber offending lines and saved as csv. Finally converted back to 2da and then used the 2da-tidy 2da option in 2da-csv to make sure there were no tabs in there and all columns lined up.

OK I have gone through all the haks checking the 2da's. There were 3 with 2da files with tabs in them. I have replaced the tabs with spaces in the appropriate files and uploaded the haks (which includes the creatures one). I also have a possible bug report - see other thread.

Added new ship portraits in the new CaveGnome folder. They simply replace the initial CCC ones. You just have to unpack "sj_portraits" with 7zip. Copy the new portraits in place of the old ones (after unpacking "sj_portraits.hak") and remake a new sj_portrait.hak with the Bioware make hack utility. There was a little glitch: 2 times the lamprey ship (10 and 13). The ship number 13 is the improved one, the number 10 is the old looking ship. We could use this slot for something else. I added some type "h" missing portraits. Hoping you like the improved look ;-)

edit: Just discovered some little imperfections in a few pics. Apparently the JPEG conversion used to make some gallery samples highlight these... but they are not visible in the TGA versions. Will correct this later.

Updated and corrected the new SJ ships portraits to v1.1. You can find them in the CaveGnome Dropbox folder. To replace the older ones, simply decompress sj_portraits.hak, overwrite with the new pics, recompress and voila... Posted some new pics to the gallery. The gallery pics are jpeg versions from the "h" portrait type (256 X 512 pixels, displayed when you create a character for exemple).

@TR: thanks for the new documents ;-)

regards.

Just uploaded three pdf documents. These are not in an archive as 7zip couldn't shrink them any further. All concern items unique to sj. The items are mostly magical, with a few gnomoi things and a small number are organic. The documents are seperated into their source document types.

As we lack some general use cloud loadscreen, made new atmosphere pictures with a moded "loadscreens.2da" (i used line 1098, name Atmosphere04 and pics names: PA_SJ3_08, PA_SJ3_08s). Uploaded to the CaveGnome dropbox folder. Posted pic in gallery.

Dropbox file name: SJ_atmos_loadscreen04.7z

To use it, decompress "sj_tilesets.hak" to an empty folder of your choice, decompress my little 7zip, overwrite the 2da with the new one and copy the 2 pics, compress all files with nwhack.exe to a new
"sj_tilesets.hak". Done...

cheers!

And one pic more added to the atmosphere loadscreen set... It's an orange cloudy airworld where you see a giant yellow ringed planet in the background (for the curious, this is based on an old modified ESA pic dreaming what we could see from inside Titan atmosphere :-)

Dropbox file name: SJ_atmos_loadscreen05.7z. This new file replaces the old one.

(Added line 1099 in "loadscreens.2da", name: Atmosphere05, pics names: PA_SJ3_09, PA_SJ3_09s).

@Tarot Redhand: I like your airworlds pictures, perhaps we could integrate some of these in the loadscreen pack ?

Merry christmas and a happy new year to everybody !

New file added in the dropbox CaveGnome folder...

"SJ_skyb_loadscr01.7z" replaces the old obsolete SJ_atmos_loadscreen05.7z.

Content: old loadscreen content plus one "phlogiston skybox" and corresponding loadscreen.

To use this, do as previously explained: decompress your "sj_tilesets.hak" to an empty folder (with Bio nwhack), decompress my little 7zip and copy / overwrite this content to the sj_tilesets folder. You should have 7 tgas, 2 x 2das and one .mdl. Now compress all files with nwhack.exe to a new
"sj_tilesets.hak".

I hope the skybox is an improvment. I would suggest using the Wildspace tileset and some dark Phlogiston placeables with it. It's huge in its TGA form, but the cylindrical form makes for a better visual experience. What you think ?

Cheers

Lately, I was trying to make sense of skyboxes, specifically "phlogiston skyboxes" and something struck my (poor) mind ;-) What's a good space game without a good space music track ?

As i am a big lover of very old excellent space games (Elite included), i extracted the IMHO best Homeworld music tracks and adapted 'em to Nwn.

Here you have: SJ_Homeworld_Music.7z file in my dropbox folder, a little package of 10 Homeworld musics (7 ambient and 3 battle music).

To use, unarchive file with 7zip. Copy all the .bmu to your neverwinter "music" folder and put the "ambientmusic.2a" in your override folder (or add it to one of the Spelljammer hacks). launch neverwinter and now you can choose these new tracks on the area audio properties. I declared the new music starting at the 150th position In the "ambientmusic.2a". Is there any specific music range reserved / suggested to use for the SpellJammer project ?

If i remember well, all Homeworld music is now in the public domain for not commercial use. Enjoy!

CG

PS: I could do the same with a selection of Fallout music tracks as the original music creator has generously given his work to the gamers community and i have the entire game soundtracks. Of course, Fallout music absolutely rocks ! :-)

New combo: 7 cylindric skyboxes + 7 assorted loadscreens uploaded to Dropbox !

edit: This package replaces the old "SJ_skyb_loadscr01.7z".

edit 2: Package now available on the New Vault, here:

http://neverwinterva...indric-skyboxes

For SJ Dropbox users:

To grab them, search in the CaveGnome folder. You should find a 7Zip archive named:

SJ_cyl_skyb_loads_02.7z

with a 12647 Ko file size, that contains 30 files:

- 2  2das

- 21 targa pics

- 7 models

Yes, this is big... Because of the uncompressed 4096 x 512 targas for the panoramic skyboxes. In the future i will experiment reducing rez, perhaps something like 2048 x 256 or 1024 x 128 could do, if image quality doesn't degrade too much. FWIW, i don't see much slowing in game when i use these.

Use the same method that i already described here to install the new content in game (see previous posts in this thread).

Have a nice day (or night) :-)
