I am wanting to edit a basic shirt item so it appears to have blood stains on it.

My first hurdle: Where is the texture - or rather what is it called, because i figure it is in the materials folder and cannot find anything with 'shirt' in it like the resref in the toolset.

Expected second hurdle (and a lazy request): what is the model name for a basic joesfightershirt? I tried searching the Models folder but nothing came up again - i have indexed the folders and have unzipped versions with no joy.

Thanks

It would be cloth armour, most likely, so the model name should conform to the naming convention for player-wearable cloth armour.  Something like P_HHM_CL01 or so, for a human male.

My understanding is that the clothing body models look like this:

P_XXX_CL_Body##.MDB

You'd need to pick a race and gender (the XXX) and know the clothing pick number from the toolset (##). I think the clothing material would be the same name with a .dds. It might be easier to just implement it as a tint texture.

Ed.: Oops, redundant post.

No I scrolled through the armours looking and did not even have it register that the race issue would make this unreasonably complex if not time consuming - that is to assume that the different races use different textures - with Tchos' and rjshae's advice i can now explore this endeavour.

Many thanks to both :)

The different races most likely only use different models, and the texture files are the same for each race.  If you find any of them, you should be able to open it in MDB Cloner and find out the texture name.

OK - i walked that path - too many differences and it is basically me trying to highlight an event that is relevant for a short time.

I was hoping for a shirt that could be worn as a default clothing then discarded shortly thereafter.

I thought for a moment I could limit playable races - but that ain't much fun is it? So no.

I tried a few models in Model Viewer they use slightly different textures for genders and the layouts are too dissimilar between races to fudge it with an override - but then the default shirts would be zixed.

Effort vs outcome not promising.

Thanks again for the advice

Maybe a visual effect would work?
