Need help. I am planning to get back into Mass Effect again, but cannot choose a class. I have tried to make the class fit the history, which will be the Earthborn, War Hero one. what class fits best with that set up?

Any class really fits, that's what great about the series. My personal opinion is that Vanguards seem like the most likely class to pull off the War Hero Military Service record, but that's because of how I envision it going down in my head. I think it'd be best for you to take the time to think of the scenario in which your Military Service record occurred and then think about the most likely class that would have fit that role to you.

This is earthborn. It would not make much sense with biotic. But I thought about this Shepard (female, like the last ones) being more of a bruiser of the reds or something, and joining the Alliance after getting in trouble and the reds leaving her.

Hmm, with both Earthborn and War Hero I think good old Soldier class would fit it best of the 6 classes.

You could get affected by element zero on earth though. Orphan playing around factories based on them or even sleeping in basements of such places.
Otherwise a soldier would do.

I also thought about an Infiltrator, but then thought that the class did not have a good look for the role (just won't die). So good Ideas, soldier sounds like a decent fit.
I played only the Infiltrator and Vanguard in ME 1 to completion though.

With the infiltrators sneakiness I could see them filling the War Hero role, slowly picking off the enemy through clever tactics.
Soldiers are a pretty fun class to play, especially using Overkill and bullet hosing the enemy. The only real downside is that you have no reason to bring Ashley with you anywhere.

Off-Topic but your avatar is hilarious.
On-Topic. I think I am going to go Soldier, as I have not done that class on my PS 3.

Earthborn makes total sense with biotics. It's how they even first happened, after all (crashed shipments of eezo).

I have decided on a soldier. Feels more like what a war hero would be.

Yep either work.
Any of the classes fit with Earthborn, really, given what exists there. I figure Colonist (more Combaty?) and Spacer (more Techy?) feel more particular.

Did get the assault rifle achievement, so might switch to vanguard again.../confused.
I try to mesh the class with the psychological profile, not the pre-service history.

I always tend to play soldier on ME1 as I don't like the vanguard much on ME1
and then i play ME2 & ME3 as a biotic charging, badass heatbutting vanguard.
I just always pretend that at the start of ME2 Shepherd landed in a big pile of EEZO
and project lazarus gave him biotic implants.

I'm not a fan of vanguards. It's too easy to play as them.

I love Vanguard. The Biotic Charge is just too badass.

Hmmmm, its been a while since I played a vanguard in ME1. Do go on and tell me about Biotic Charge - because it is amazing in ME2 and 3; but I do not remember it in ME1 at all.

Yeah, it isn't in ME1. Same with Tech Armor, Tac Cloak, Combat Drone, and Adrenaline Rush. Singularity was the only "trademark" power in ME2 that was in ME1.
Some of the ME2 powers were sort of reinterpretations of ME1 powers though. Adrenaline Rush was sort of a cross between Immunity and Marksman / Overkill with a name that seems similar to Adrenaline Burst. Tech Armor could be considered very loosely related to Barrier.
