Woodley is a crazy talented athlete, but as Marquardt demonstrated, he's vulnerable. I don't see him as champ. Hendricks really needs to work on his defense, but damn, he earned that win. I know many MMA fans feel women should be in the kitchen making them a sandwich (sadly), but that fight between Pennington and Andrade was super competitive.

It's a pity Busomjack isn't here, he could tell you about how he's mastered the swallow cut.

I was in Karate for a few years. They never taught me how to punch through a brick wall with my chi or anything but it did get me in great shape.
I wouldn't mind getting back into martial arts, I like the discipline factor.

Thanks for the pointless and condescending post.
I don't think it was pointless or condescending, i meant it. If Busomjack were reading this thread, i'll bet he could liven it right up, his posts were fun. But you're welcome.

The women's fights are usually exciting, but it seems quite obvious at times that they've got some catching up to do in terms of skills.

Only fight that interests me on UFC Fight Night 2, is the main event Shogun vs. Henderson. Shogun takes it.

Only thing I'm interested in is Diaz laying an ass whoopin' on Hendricks. Unsurprisingly, neither is expected to utilise Silat or Pro Wrestling techniques in this title fight for all the marbles.
No they're just busy losing, mean mugging, not paying taxes and expecting a titleshot cause they don't throw spinning ****.

Also Masakatsu Funaki does not approve of your pro wrestling jab.

That wasn't a fair fight. His opponent is clearly using forbidden rape techniques.

Sucks that Shogun lost, but congratulations to Dan Henderson for showing great heart. The first round and second round reminds me why I miss Pride rules, since Shogun could've used his best weapons, stomps and soccer kicks.
Was also quite happy to Alexander Storm continue his win streak. 50 professional fight victories!

Know little to nothing of the Martial Arts, but have been most Impressed by those that were adept in Aikido. Have witnessed a few folks, including myself, being subdued more quickly using this form than any other. Of course, I have not seen all of them, and it would seem that forms evolve, so it would be difficult to state which is best.

Was this a "You stand like this and I'm going to do this" type thing? Steven Seagull is somewhat of a master in Aikido, apparently.
Just watched Saffiedine vs Lim on Fight Pass - what a fight. Lim has to be the biggest Welterweight I've ever seen. Really tough guy, too.

On a few occasions, it was simply demonstrated. But twice, I was stopped dead in my tracks by those of Black belt or higher; both times to stop me from retaliating against someone else. One turned me horizontal and held me at my fulcrum point by a single arm, and the other simply stopped my charge forward by placing a single hand to my chest. Neither hurt or harmed me; simply drained the energy and fight right from me by stopping all of my momentum instantly.
In one of the simple demonstrations, I was foolish enough to ask the artist to "show me some Aikido". In a blink, he turned my wrist and had me tearfully tapping out in less than a couple of seconds. In all these occasions, I have never felt so helpless.
I have witnessed raw power in some other forms, but Aikido has impressed me the most thus far.

Wow, I hadn't heard of Fight pass before. Is it worth the subscription? As for Saffiedine, that dude has rock solid skills. I remember him dismantling Marquardt like it was nothing.

Really depends on you. You won't get access to PPV, instead to events advertised for fight pass. Also all old UFC, WEC, Pride FC and Strikeforce events is there. 10 dollars a month, isn't that bad, but compared to the deal the WWE is offering it's still lackluster.

Once you've exhausted the fight library it's not worth the sub fee, in my opinion. Of course, there's always the TV shows, TUF etc, if you like that kind of thing.

MMA is starting to become a bit boring. Most of the legends that always come to fight are either retired or very close to retiring.
Hoping the welterweight division will spice things up. Weidman, Cain and Pettis are too injury prone.

Jake the snake cut from UFC! What the flip, man?

I say Nicholas Robert Diaz should be given the undisputed interim title to defend. Then he can unify it against Hendricks.

My first feeling would be to laugh that Nick Diaz getting a title shot. Then I remember that this is the UFC we're talking about.
And yes cutting Jake Shields, shows that the UFC are in the PPV business, not the sport business. So the notion of the "Best fighters fight in the UFC" that they try to sell to us is laughable.
Shields, Okami, Fitch. Grapplers better watch out.

Uncrowned P4P champ Nick Diaz turns down fight against Hector Lombard (who?). Want shot at the title and/or $500,000. Very reasonable.
