Is there a way to turn off wysiwyg editor, and have bbcode tagging on? I mean when you turn off wysiwyg, all tagging options are inactive.

It doesn't look like it, unfortunately.  Another forum I go to with similar editor behaves the same way.

 

You can still use the bbcode tags in the wysiwyg editor, and you can easily bounce back and forth between the two modes while writing a message (I do that to learn the keyboard inputs for some of the emoticons, since I find it faster to just type them out).

 

Not ideal based on your request, but hopefully lets you do what you want to do a bit more easily.

I'm glad that I no longer need to type IMG and quotes, but I'd rather have something more minimalistic. pasting plain text by default would be great.
