My first language is English and it's terrible. I have a speech disorder called cluttering. I basically enunciate words wrong and puke words everywhere. I can't convey things right like how my mind thought of it.

Yeah I know, only you and Nightman have heard my glorious voice. If I knew that my mic wouldn't of worked for PS3, probably would of gotten one with it.

Yeah I tend to do that too, it's like my mind is too fast for my mouth to keep up and runs ahead on its own, making me careless and jumble up words everywhere and when I do say it something, the version in my head is so much better but I can't say it as it is. And it's same whatever the language is.

Oh man, but when I'm angry, through voice I drop F-Bombs like it's Pearl Harbor again (GET IT? I'M ASIAN? NO, OKAY, THAT WAS TERRIBLE BECAUSE THE JAPS WERE THE ONES WHO CAUSED IT ANYWAY). My English is spot on and I say mean things without remorse. None of you will ever see this so don't worry, lol.

I'll second this. We so special.   He's got a nice, calming way of speaking, Bowlcuts (just so you know what you're missing out). Hey, I've even heard Mexximal talk, and I hear (pun intended) it's not very common, either.

Pffftt, don't be so hard on yourself, there's nothing to worry about  - and yes, saying this even before hearing you.

If anyone complains about an accent or 'crappy English' (doesn't look crappy to me, and I seriously doubt anyone would), you could in all honesty ask them to speak your native language with you instead. See how they handle that.

Sure, if it is German/French/Spanish etc., there is a chance the teammates might share the native language with you and do even better, but I'd like to see the other ones try and stumble.

Haha yeah I'm in college, any conversation with an another dude involves a half dozen F bombs with a generous sprinkling of the other more colorful adjectives. Also my English is decent enough and I'm not a bad speaker at all nor am I shy at conversation or anything, but when I get excited it tends to get all confusing to the listeners due to the way I'm jumping from one random stuff to the next and I stop making sense.

I am pretty sure, my drunken madness is what has been luring the banshees in to sync me at least 3 times every game.....either that or my truly angelic voice calls out to them to give me their warm embrace.........

 

Bowlcuts...I got my blu-tooth for $8...amazon buddy...also.. I looked up how to hook up our turtle beach headsets to the ps3 on the internetz...and it looks like our particular models need a special extension to plug in the microphone portion.....I can hook up my turtle beach and get game sound..as well as hear people talking...I just cant talk back ....

 

As most of you that have played with me....I believe that every time I am getting sync killed..that my cussing transcends language barriers and becomes some-what shakespearean by default.... here is a prime example:  muthr ** *** **8**88U*76^6 banshees (*&^^ F (*&* U 987669(*(***9fu banshee%%$$$##22(*&^^%%5 F-ING---f-*** f888 88fffffFFFFFuuuuu banshee.

^^ I also recognize this and the above myself. I believe I have a Gamer's Tourette's - I tend to curse a lot more in game than irl. (Ok, I do curse there too but not that much.)

A good rule of thumb I heard from my friend: if she is still cursing in English, it's all fine. When she starts to curse in Finnish, it's time to worry or run.

I only talk to people that I've known for some time (via chat and in-game) and also use a mic. But I'm not really talkative so you aren't missing out on anything. My main language is very far from english too so you should be grateful that you don't have to listen to my terrible accent.

Oh but accents are the sugar and spice of speaking and listening (or as we here say: the salt of..)! The more the merrier, some even find them exciting. I'm just a linguist nerd, so I find everything exciting...

Just last week, we had a colourful "sweet mix of everything", as pointed out by one dude from Jersey who sounded all Deep South + an Aussie, a Finn, and one from midwestern/southern states iirc.

 

 But it would be nice to scream at the stoopid PUGs or have more moments like that Raptor toting Krogan. Then again, I'm also a huge rager so...won't be singing you're going to hear out of me.

Uhmm, this was my main reason for buying a mic headset to begin with.

what, ... I thought Germans has the most terrible accent! That's why I prefer not to participate in English conversation.

 

Btw: My old PS3 Bloutooth Headset battery does only last for an hour when not muted.

^ That really sounds like total garbage. At least my wireless Turtle Beach XP500 headset mic does more then being a mic (4 speakers), and lasts 2 days with 2 double AA's. Or one day with rechargeable double AA's (which is obviously what I use).

 

 

And all features work for PC, 360, and PS3. Only problem is the plastic holding it together is very cheap. Mine cracked in four places around the support holding the ear piece. Using some cheapo temp fix to hold it all together. So buyer beware.

 

 

PS - hey Nightman, that tinny piece in the pic is the mic bluetooth that connect to bottom of X-Box controller for mic use to work on X-Box and PC via X-Box controller. PS3 don't need it since it has Bluetooth.
