I like Kaiden too, about 9 of my 27 Shepards have him survive.  I guess that mean I like Ashley more lol

I liked him but he was my least favourite ME companion. Which says more about the strength of the ME1 companions than himself.

I really liked him a lot more than Ashley, which is why I saved him, not to mention the fact I put him on the bomb and really want to make sure the geth don't find a way to diffuse it. I hope he finds that girl from his past in ME2.

me and kaiden were best buds, i chose to save ash cause i felt maybe i could get it back together with her in the second game, but yeah me and kaiden were best buds, it was hard choosing not to save him

I think it's kind of difficult to compete against the more exotic squadmates. You can have human companions in any game, who didn't prefer to interact with garrus/wrex/tali/Liara over Kaiden and Ashley? Neither of those two were ever in my party once I got control of the squad.



When measured against aliens it's hard not to be boring, well, without being ridiculous or annoying.

I save kaiden on my main male Shepard file, I prefer his personality to Ashley simple as that so i want him in ME3. Not to say i don't have a file with Ashley for my main shep but they one I consider "canon" its all Kaiden baby

well u see thats my point... that voice will always be Carth to me, I cannot bring myself to play with him, he was soooo boring & goody goody in KOTOR he ruined Mass Effect for 'Special-K 'all these years later

I liked all the companions. I just like Ashley more, so I usually leave Kaiden.

I liked Kaiden too, not to the degree of some other characters, but I didn't have any dislike for him, he seemed a really genuine and nice guy and I felt sorry for him for his ordeal on Jump Zero

I hated Kaiden...he was more boring than Tali....*sigh* but he survived all my play-through's except one because i hated Ashley more.

All right, but the way you worded your post implied that you consider Kaidan, as a character, to be a carbon copy of Carth.

I only read the OP... because my answer is a resounding NO YOU ARE NOT. I absolutely loved him. I didn't think he was boring, and he had a better story than freaking Ashley did. Then, he wasn't as annoying as Liara, he was by FAR my favorite character in ME1. I wish he was in ME2 more, but the fact that he's in it at all is one of the reasons I'm getting it. And it looks totally awesome. But still.



So no. I thought he was freaking awesome.

Nope, I loved the man. He was a sweetheart and really quite deep once you get to know him. He has the whole shy/cute thing going on and it doesn't hurt that he makes for some good eyecandy.

Agreed.  Then again, I'm majorly in the minority I loved the VA because I liked Carth.  Sure, he was a little psycho paranoid, but that's okay.

Ugly...? How so? I most certainly find him attractive, as do others in this thread... it's probably because you are a straight guy and so don't really get the appeal.
