I really liked Kaidan. He's the voice of reason. Also, I thought it was sweet how he was worried about losing control in ME 1. I think he feels a lot on the inside, but holds it back from showing.

Truth be told, after meeting both of them on Horizon on different characters, I liked Kaiden more. Hell I did one playthrough of ME1 to get Ashley killed just so he would be alive on male Shepard import.

I like Kaidan better than Ashley because he and my Shep were bros. I remember the exact moment it clicked was in Chora's Den when Ash remarks about the strippers and Kaidan says, "What, you don't think they're here for the food?"  He was ironic without being a tool, a realist and stoic without ever whining.  I would totally want this guy to be my wing.

Besides that, Ash never really inspired me as a love interest. Liara and Tali were more interesting to me simply because I've always had a thing for the brainy-hot girls.

I couldn't stand Kaiden. IMO he whined too damn much and it just got aggravating. Complaining about headaches because of his L2 mods or never getting with Rahna... He needed to man up so i usually gave him the axe on Virmire.

Kaidan was my favourite squadmate in ME1. As an adept I would always have him and Tali with me (I find Tali particularly useless in ME2 and only take her if I have to).



Kaidan was LI for my femShep and my manShep, although manShep never got to express his fondness for him. It was like losing a limb for him too

Kaiden reminds me of Carth Onasi from KOTOR. he's whiny, antisocial, and just a little baby! i hate him with great malice!

I think he's really annoying, but I still love him. My femshep romanced him, but cheated on him with Garrus in ME2. I wonder if there will be a whole jealousy scene, where he whines some more and Garrus punches him in the face. But, I do love him even if he's whiny. It does make me sad that he doesn't come with you, but it's his fault. So, Garrus was there and I couldn't resist.



It still might be hard to choose in the third though. Kaidan is pretty adorable, as annoying as he is.
