I was wondering whether to get the new DLC and I wondered due to the overall less than popular reception of ME's first two DLC if those DLC were going to have an impact on the stories of Mass Effect 2?

Anyone have any idea about this?

I do remember hearing that there has been some confirmation that the choices from the Bring Down the Sky DLC will effect certain parts of the game in ME2, but I haven't heard anything about whether the second DLC will do the same.

I actually heard the opposite that no DLC will be incorporated/cause an effect in ME2. However, maybe there will be DLC for the DLC later...?

It should. I let Balak go in one of my playthroughs to save the hostages, and I want to remove that smug look on his face.

No, Chris stated this pretty clearly yesterday.

There should be a side mission in ME2 that is a follow up to Bring Down the Sky, but only if your profile has it and only if you let Balak go. Kind of a reward for buying the DLC for the first one. But, I guess BioWare's policy is to pretend those DLC never happened. Can't blame them.

None of the DLC is being incorporated from the first because nobody who has the Steam version of ME1 ever got to play or download any DLC.

It would have been nice to see that Balak turned himself around and now works as a well-respected chef on Omega.

FYI this isn't true. Bioware released a proper installer that allows BDtS to work with Steam purchased ME. I played it just this past week.

This. It was confirmed yesterday that it won't affect ME 2....although I wouldn't cut out the possibility of a BDTS 2 being released as a DLC pack sometime the road.

If you are a level 49 bordering on level 50 is there any way you can reach level 50 with Bring Down The Sky without having to replay large parts of the Mass Effect ending?

No since you have to have the save at the end of the game in order to import any progress.

Chris priestly lied - Bring down the sky is mentioned in ME2 at a news booth thing. It tells you what decision you made ( A) The girl thanks you for saving her or B) I don't know exactly and says that Balak is still at large)

Actually it DOES affect ME2, even if in a very very small way. In mid game you simply receive a mail from the lady you meet in BDtS, that thanks you for what you've done, yada yada.

Glad to hear it doesn't carry over. I did Bring Down The Sky, but after experiencing what a waste of time and money that DLC was, I opted out of getting the 2nd one. Glad I did, too... it was reviewed quite unfavorably.
