Skill is measured in Blips, I thought.
That is the international measurement. OP may have been looking for something more regional.

Skill is actually impact on the team's success rate and clearance times. There are some players that might not particularly light up the scoreboard (usually they do) but the whole game becomes easier when they enter it. Most likely if Platinum feels like easy mode you have a few good players in lobby.
Skill is not playing one or two OP kits like a Geth Trooper or GI and just dominating the scoreboard even though that is fun. Being able to play any and all kits and contribute to the team's success is skill IMHO.

I think it's really difficult to define/quantify, but if you think score is important, I looked at scoring tendencies of PS3 pugs.
There's only one objective in this game - completing a match to extraction.
The only measurable things I can think of that can even be remotely assosciated with skill are:
-use fewest consumables
-fastest time
-weaker builds/loadout
But that's omitting the biggest x-factor, one which too many players ignore, and is impossible to quantify. In the immortal words of Garrus Vakarian:
"I couldn't do this without you, Garrus."
"Sure you could. Not as stylishly, of course."
(Personal) Style is everything.
- HSing a dragoon mid-roll, diving into cover to grab an assault trooper and invulnerability, sidestep to avoid a phantom melee...
- sprint towards a group, side dodge a brute into cover conveniently blocking LoS from marauder fire, cover turn to grab, vault over and stagger with power, dodge roll into second marauder's face straight into another HS...
- I could go on...
These things can't be measured or compared, and apart from a few common features of the game (aiming for example) are unique for each player - everyone will express themselves differently, even with the same kit. That's what is great - it's not just a test of stratege/tactics, but a means of personal expression.

So when you say TGI you mean Talon GI, right? ![]()

No. He means Arc Pistol GI.

Average extraction time, perhaps?
This+ amount of consumables used IMO.
So bronze players have the most skill then? This+ amount of consumables used IMO.
I'd say you have to break it in to styles. Solo vrs Team. As the two take on very different approaches. Just being skilled and great in solo does not make you a good team player. and Great team players can BOMB at solo. I'd also have to ad even though you score top of the board and run around like a git doing face plants after clearing spawn does not show skill either, just your abundance of patience only for a "TEAM" mate cose to revive you for verry little XP of their own.
Playnig games with a skilled player or two can be fun, with a team of four...madening.
So bronze players have the most skill then?
PsychoticBiotic pls. Everybody knows that unless you play Gold you're a scrub. I'm surprised it even has to be mentioned.

The way I judge skill. Is from how well they perform using the kit they use, how well they use it on various maps and how good they use it when it comes to different factions.
If you die and everyone scrambles through hell in order to revive you, then you're pretty skilled (valuable to the team).
If you die and everyone casually looks away hoping you'll bleed out, then you're unskilled (a liability to the team).
