Miranda/Kaidan
Both sentinels are very versatile, but in different ways. Kaidan has assault rifles, which makes him a good weapon user while Miranda clearly has a better power set. I can't decide who is better, but both go well with any class and team.
Jacob/Grunt/James
All three are built as tanks and have incendiary ammo. Jacob has a better grenade and cc with pull, but a worse weapon set. Grunt has concussive shot, which makes him a better detonator compared to James. Overall, Jacob is better than the other two in a biotic combo team as a biotic/tank hybrid, while Grunt is better than James in a tech heavy team.
Jack/Liara
Jack's passive gives her a shorter cooldown compared to Liara. Jack is the fastest biotic primer (warp and pull) and the second fastest universal detonator (warp). However, Liara's singularity tends to lift enemies up and out of cover, while Jack's pull tends to pull enemies into cover. Also Liara can disable dangerous enemies like phantoms easily. Jack's shockwave is also lacking because it is difficult to aim and warp is much better. Overall, Jack is better in a biotic team, where Shepard can curve throws around corners to hit pulled enemies, while Liara is better in non biotic teams, where she can lift enemies out of cover for Shepard to shoot. Liara is also better against Cerberus.
Samara/Javik
While their passives are the same, their playstyles are totally different. Their passives increase power damage, but Samara does not benefit much from this because she does not dps well with her powers (warp and reave), compared to Javik (lift grenade and dark channel). She will totally lose this battle if it were not for one power, throw. Specced correctly, she can have a 4.3 second throw, making her the fastest universal detonator in the whole game. Thus she can consistently spam throw to detonate any caster Shepard's primers. Overall, Samara is better in any power heavy team, while Javik is better in a weapon heavy team, where his grenade spam can help the team get out of nasty situations and do burst damage.
Kasumi/EDI
Compared to any other team mate, Kasumi only has one role in battle - overload spam. With her cloak damage boost and cooldown buffer, she can spam a super strong overload very frequently, stripping shields and barriers, setting up tech bursts and detonating tech combos quickly. To do this, however, she requires a lot of annoying micromanagement. She also does poorly against armor. Kasumi is top tier when the team has trouble dealing with shields, such as a biotics team, and for tech combo teams, while EDI is much more versatile. EDI is also tankier if you choose to activate defense matrix.
Zaeed/Ashley
They only differ by one move, marksman and carnage. Even their weapon sets are the same. Since Ashley's marksman is useless Zaeed wins this one by a slight margin, though I can't imagine when carnage will be used over concussive shot.
Feel free to post thoughts and opinions. I will compare squadmates by function and role in combat next.

*sighs* I wish they hadn't broken Ash's Marksman skill.
As for the Aramax exclusive squadmates - I find I enjoy bringing Miranda along. She has a skill set that adds sorely needed biotic and tech powers to my soldier Shepard's team. She works well with Garrus and Ash (who I still like to bring along - I just don't invest in Marksman).
Sometimes when I go against the Collectors, I like to use Garrus and Miranda. You know, for "old times sake."

Samara's Throw has the Reset on Detonation evolution, so if you are a biotic, her Throw will recharge immediately if it detonates a biotic combo.

Kasumi is boss vs. Armor since her passive Power Damage bonus affects her AP Ammo, making her AP Ammo ridiculously powerful.
Also I don't micromanage her at all, and she spams Overload just fine and seems far more survivable (with Cloak + Decoy) than any other teammate.
Best squadmate for Infiltrators (My Shep is an Infiltrator), IMO.

Grunt has vastly more Health/Shields that James.
Jack has much more Health than Liara.
Miranda, who was already awsome in ME2, became even more awsome in ME3. Oh, to have her on the crew!
Also, I am surprised that you pair EDI and Kasumi. EDI was clearly meant as a replacement for Mordin. Kasumi might have been good if she had Shadow Strike instead of Cloak. Not sure why they didn't give her that. Couldn't figure out how to implement it in SP?

Thanks for the details on their health/shields, that info is not in the wiki.
I compared EDI and Kasumi because of their passives, which are identical. And I always thought EDI is more like Amanda Kenson lol.
