What? Just look it up, im not going to explain the mechanics of how estrogen is linked to attractiveness
Idk where I go to school, I learned it was a myth.

Ok then, so look it up and you'll be surprised. Lets not derail this thread
This has been studies that show a correlation between attraction and estrogen levels, but that's completely irrelevant.
I'm sure Bioware doesn't base their models after hormones.
Assuming they have a somewhat human anatomy (ignoring the horns) the males would have boosted testosterone levels compared to humans explaining their muscle mass, females would have boosted estrogen, meaning theyre generally more attractive
Since that's typically how it works in mammals, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that female Qunari would have higher oestrogen than the males.
Since the females have been shown with the key attribute of mammals - mammaries/breasts, then they're mammals.
Dunno, but this one can interrogate me anytime.
I can embrace the Qun with this one ![]()

Hopefully now we can get back on topic
A large disparity in muscularity I can buy, but I'd like to see more Qunari-ish facial features than we've seen in official sources so far.
Also, sensible clothes. The underwear look that was used because the purpose of those pictures was to show off physique seems to have entered the imagination, and the comics, as what they wear normally, but I hope that doesn't stick.
I hope that they don't look like slightly larger females with horns (which is basically what they look like in the comic). I'd love for them to have harsher/rougher features like what we've seen of the qunari males, and I'd love for them to be really muscular as well.
If the Qunari females have a somewhat amazonian build, I'll be very happy. Like the males, I'd like them to be fairly toned and muscular. Not to the she-hulk level, of course, but a Wonder Woman-esque build with a reasonable amount of toned muscle would suit me just fine.

Ummm, that's not how estrogen works.
In fact women also have a certain amount of testosterone which boost sex drive. Estrogen basically only influences fertility. Women actually have several hormones involved in fertility and sexual maturity; estrogen is only one of them. Women who take estrogen pills don't suddenly grow bigger breasts.
If anything, I'd suspect that female qunari would have more testosterone than women of other races. And this is assuming that hormones have anything at all to do with anything in Thedas, which I sincerely doubt due to past information.
I recall having a conversation (briefly, as in 2-3 posts) on the forums with Gaider long ago, about the fact that you're always born human if one of your parents were human, in Dragon Age lore. I asked if that child were to have a child with the nonhuman race, and the next child, and the next, for generations, would they eventually become elves/dwarves/whatever. Gaider said that wasn't known. If genetics don't appear to have any bearing on racial attributes in Thedas, why would hormones?
It took a second look for me to notice, because we're conditioned by the media to see this particular body shape as "normal" and "standard" and "ideal," but in that comic panel, the lady qunari has precisely the same physical shape as Isabella, she's just taller. That shouldn't be the case. Qunari aren't humans.
What I'd like to see is a much more powerful figure. The comics and concept art are "okay,"--as in I won't wig out if that's how they look--but as others pointed out, they don't really match the huge males. They are humanoid, and they don't need to look like female body builders, but they should look more burly/rugged than they do in the art. I'm not going to say "hey they shouldn't look human at all." Just... you know, more muscular and robust. So tall, athletic, not really "manly" but "heavier?" They don't have to totally lose their feminine shape to be made to look more physically imposing, but such tiny waistlines and huge breasts just don't seem to suit qunari that well. Tone the breasts down a little, make the waist a little thicker (because muscle, not fat), beef up the arm and leg muscles a bit, and we're golden.
And I repeat, shirts. Just as Morrigan's outfit wasn't appropriate for where we met her (in the Korcari wilds, where more than one character complained about cold and rain and thus we can postulate that exposure to the elements would be a bad thing and no Morrigan's outfit is NOT okay because magic), we'll probably be traversing a lot of places that are Not Warm for the Inquisition. Strips of cloth might be okay in warmer regions but characters who are going to be all over the place should dress more practically.

Estrogen does not only effect fertility, multiple studies link it with physical attractiveness in women, this information can easily be seen if you open another tab and use Google. If you disagree then take it up with them. Besides that i agree completely with what they should look like.
I don't think that is how estrogen works. And why would the Qunari females have boosted estrogen?
My thoughts exactly.
Okay ultimately there's the possibility of them going that route, but I really don't think it would make sense. I think it'd make more sense for the male and female Qunari to be of similar build.
That's what I'm personally hoping for. It would add a unique flavor to the species, for me. If I wanted to play a sexy lady, I could be a human or elf. I want the option to play an imposing, muscular figure... who happened to be female. ![]()
To extrapolate what Qunari women will look like, you need to understand how the Qunari evolved.
It always comes down to Science. ![]()

Look at my post above yours on the subject of estrogen. Other than that, "imposing" is the keyword i want to be on the designers minds
I'm sorry, but I just noted that the forum itself has answered =P

I love the look of the concept art of the females but like others have said, I'm hoping for at least the option to have a stronger, bulkier build for our lady-Q's.

Barbarian ladies FTW!
Is there any point in this thread anymore? They'll most likely look like the Qunari females we saw in the pictures in this thread.
I am more interested in how different the world would react between the Inquisitor being a Qunari male or female.

If you're just going off the premise that more estrogen = more pronounced female secondary sexual characteristics then I guess you could say it would lead to bigger breasts and more fat distribution around the hips. But hormones are nowhere near that simple. If you want to see qunari females have these features then why not just say so? Hormones don't have to come into it at all.
I'm disappointed in how the female qunari look so far. They really do just look like grey-skinned humans with horns and pointy ears. I'd like to see them a bit more muscular and maybe have some more interesting facial features, like how the males have that ridge thing on their nose and pronounced brows.
To be honest they should be as muscular as their male counterparts, apart maybe from some body variations. I really do not want a female human with muscle. If they make the default male extreme muscular, the females should be extreme muscular. Please no gender BS differences that do not make sense.

That's true to an extent, but do we really want to talk about Qunari in human, real-world terms?
I hope they are NON-human enough to not follow these same patterns. But maybe that's just too creative for the devs, who knows.

Aye. That's the sort of build I'd like to see for the female Qunari. They should be tall and physically powerful and imposing, like their male counterparts.

Thank you. It comes from this poster, but I can't post the actual picture in my signature.
