I think the female Qunari should look the same race as the male Qunari.

In general, tall and muscular bodies are definitely a must. Just because they don't fight, doesn't mean they don't exercise or do any other form of physical labour. Especially a Vashoth woman, they aren't even bound by the same gender roles as the Qunari.

Females do the physical labor and smithing in qunari society so they would be just as active as males

To be honest I don't really consider the qunari to be that giant. I mean, being a head taller then everyone is tall yeah, but it's not giant type tall. Maraas I wouldn't really call a giant, since he and hawke were almost the same height.

The arishok was tall, he was taller then any of the other qunari. He I'd consider to be a giant, though he seemed to be a giant even by qunari standards.

Might have been a strange angle because Maraas is the same height as the other qunari. Plus you're leaving out that 90% of the body models for a given race are the same exact thing

I guess you're right. Could have sworn maraas and the other qunari weren't all that tall, at least not as tall as sten or arishok.

Oh do not get me wrong, I do not believe in their system at all. And I agree with you, our genders should not define what profession we will be good at.

I was talking about the lore, game universe and values, the same can be said about female quanri being soldier in the front lines but they are forbidden in that type of military roles. Qunari believe that is how things work.

What is wrong with having a "unfeminine" qunari lady? and why is unfeminine really? here some examples of that being so wrong in many lvls.

I dunno both those examples are damn fine...giving me a hard on...but seriously I'm OKAY with the the given concept art, but I'd prefer the Qunari females to have a physique closer to that of wonder women or she-hulk mainly because Qunari are suppose to be intimidating in appearance, this should be the case whether they be male or female.

I hope both Qunari will have muscles, but more important, the face, squished nose, built up cartilage especially above the eyes.

I mean muscles and body mass make sense, but I think if the women dont also have a squished nose and built up cartilage on the face, than they dont really seem like Qunari. Especially since not all of them even have horns. So the horns dont set them as Qunari as muscle mass and squished nose/built up cartilage in face.

I mean other wise why not make dwarf women thin and tall? I am really hoping for that come Inquisition.

Yeah, but not only do not all have Horns, but not all have the squished nose/built up cartilage in the face, Sten didn't. Sten looked much more like just a large human. And sure you can say that's cause they hadn't set anything unique to the Qunari yet, but then in the comics featuring Sten as Arishok he still looked the same even though there were Qunari that had the DA2 look.

Good point. If we compare Sten and his predecessor, it is more than just the horns that separate them appearance-wise.

I've got a problem with this. Qunari without horns is like elves without pointy ears IMO. In DA2 BioWare wanted to give qunari some defining characteristics as in DAO they had none aside from stature which didn't separate them enough from humans. Elves differed in stature from humans and had pointy ears to boot. The elves and dwarves had defining characteristics that separated them from humans at a glance. Not so for the qunari. I didn't know that they were supposed to be a different race until I looked into it.

DA2 changed this and made the differences between the races far more noticeable. Not just in physical characteristics but in manner of dress as well. To have the two presentations of the races existing simultaneously would need a lot of explanation seeing as how they are so different.

Agreed thats why i liked the Iron bulls pronounced facial structure only to be thrown off by the latest screen shots that look too human when taking the horns away

I'm getting a strong sub Saharan African vibe from this artwork. I like it a LOT.

Never cared for the Iron Bull personally. When I first saw him I thought he was an ogre lol

Not Me: "Hey, look at that! A giant amongst giants!"

Way I see it, being born without horns is like a deformity or something, and Sten's skin tone like Qunari Albinoism. I'm probably very wrong, but that's how I see it all as being possible.

Being born without horns isn't so much a deformity, as it is a rarity/recessive trait. In fact, the Qunari even prefer it over having horns, they believe it makes them look more fierce/dangerous. And I'd probably put Sten on the low-end of the gray skin color that qunari have. I'm kind of surprised they didn't give him a metallic-bronze skin color in the comic, I figured that's what his DAO appearance would translate to.

I think the male Qunari ( not facially ) are beautful  with the body builder V look so why can`t the female Qunari have the perfect body too .

But you're forgetting, men and women are physically different no matter what. You look at a female body builder, then at a male, and the male is always bigger. It doesn't necessarily mean their stronger. But the male is the one who's bigger in size.

And besides. Fable 2 gave us Female body types as big as the males when fully strengthened up and look how good that looked. lol.

Possibly one of my biggest gripes about that game. Invest in strength (Or even skill to an extent) and the female models start looking... Ugh.

I liked them, and I agree women would be smaller than the males, but they should also be bigger than human males and more pronounced musculature like real women body builders, they should be bulky, not as bulky as the male Qunari, but definitely bulkier than male humans. But they admitted Sten and other Qunari were more of a fluke because they didn't have the resources to make them look different at the time. I think someone got a mod to make sten look like Qunari we see in DA2, without horns, and it is very different.

Yes, human males and females are physically different, no matter what. At the same time, we need to remember that Qunari is not humans. I don't see why they have to follow the humans' biological makeup. In nature, many of the other female species are the bigger and stronger ones. We even had proof of that in the game when the High Dragons are females while males dragon are just drakes.

Agreed.

Look why argue about humans in real life and try to apply that logic to a made up race in a fantasy game. I'd really like to see Bioware push the creative envelope with the Qunari and give us something unexpected with their female design.

And anyhoo... yes the average height and size of women is smaller than the average height of men. But there are SO many variations of people out there, women who are gigantic and strong, men who are scrawny and weak. Why purposefully create video game characters that shove this idea of weak females and strong males down our throats.

I'm 5'8 and am taller than most of the men in my office. :P Yet I have to read posts about "females are weaker and females are shorter and females don't have muscle" blah blah blah. :P

As far as the male/female side by side comparison, that was from DA2, right?  The Qunari lady looks almost exactly like Hawke's female body type...and Aveline's for that matter.  The later art, from the comics, looks like it's an improvement for the build and physique.  The breasts are a little too orbital and huge in some of the comics (like the Qunari that is interrogating Isabela,) but I more blame the art style of most comics for that.

If they toned down the breasts (as I think that would look extremely silly in game,) I think the comic version looks excellent.  I do know we're ready for some more updated full body art of all the female versions of the Inquisitor.  It's been more than a little lacking in that department, sadly.

I just want big ol' muscles and big ol' horns. I want her to accidently knock people over when she turns her head, and accidently break doors when she tries to open them.
