Oh, I don't have a problem with it either, I just don't think people should read anything into it in game. :D

Have you ever noticed how buff dwarfs are? I bet lyrium dust doesn't only stimulate the mind, it's like it contains tons of protein and roids. This would also explain why the bookworms and old magisters in the tower are absolutely shredded.   :D

It is unrealistic for a real medieval knight or virtually all medieval people in general.  The Qunari build isn't unrealistic for a modern human body builder.  If you want to say Qunari are stronger based on the difference between human muscle mass and Qunari muscle mass in game, I have no problem with it.

Just don't make fallacious comparisons to real medieval humans.  Nobody in Dragon Age is built like a real medieval human.

If you didnt care about basing qunari physical capabilities on their difference in relation to humans, why did this conversation start to begin with?

Still, why wast that qunari soldier on unskilled labor, if he could be on the front lines? Since the females qunari are more than capable, that make little sense. That is the problem with that argument, they hate wasting resources.

Perhaps they were insufficiently skilled with weaponry.  Perhaps they have enough soldiers and not enough laborors.  Perhaps they simply lack some mental proclivity the Qunari consider necesary for soldiery or possess some proclivity they consider better suited to other task.  Males and females can both be scientists or philosophers accoding to one link in this thread (With separate fields of research) and males apparently can be part of the priest class, so not every male is given to soldiery.  It would only be a waste of resources if they believed having a male outside being a soldier was a waste of resources.

Because people were claiming Qunari builds were unrealistic compared to medieval humans and I pointed out that the same could be said of humans in Dragon age, so it was not a valid comparison.

I hope they find a happy balance between Big Strong Barbarian Lady and Tall Horned Human. I, personally, don't want to play a giganto-barbarian lady, but I also don't want to play a tall female human. With horns.

This exactly!  (also thank you for getting back on topic)

Like I said, she needs more muscle to balance her with the male, and maybe a bit smaller breasts.  As it stands she has the same exact body as Isabella.

I like the way you think.

But I really, really do want them to look at least a little like the concept art.

New engine could certainly help achieve that

I don't want them to look unfeminine, just... more muscular.  Wouldn't be too hard to do that, and still have them look feminine.  Definitely don't have to make them into bodybuilders like the males.  But since they do a lot of manual labor, depending what their role is, they shouldn't be so delicate, I would think.

Honestly, judging by the concept (even the comics) I think they're the best looking female species thus far.

I agree with that, especially since I'm planning to play a Qunari female warrior first.  She should not be delicate.  Though I generally think the same of most in game female models that aren't mages.

Yes but its not really whether the engine can achieve it, its whether the devs want them to look like that. The qunari screenshot looks like they're going with a african look idk with thats their influence for the design of the race

Oh do not get me wrong, I do not believe in their system at all. And I agree with you, our genders should not define what profession we will be good at.

I was talking about the lore, game universe and values, the same can be said about female quanri being soldier in the front lines but they are forbidden in that type of military roles. Qunari believe that is how things work.

What is wrong with having a "unfeminine" qunari lady? and why is unfeminine really? here some examples of that being so wrong in many lvls.

Why would i care?

The Oxmen aren't anything to look at why would their women be anything different?

Same way lions and tigers are different species. Theyre both a species of cat, as humans and Qunari are humanoid.

Err ... what?

Lions and tigers aren't different species. Where the hell did you hear that from? And "humanoid" has nothing to do with species.

I'm not saying you do. I'm just saying that, within the lore, it's strange that the Qunari would have roles women can play in the military and roles men can play in the priesthood, yet somehow the Artisans are the sole monogendered branch. That bit about Qunari males and females both being scientists is part of the lore, I think Mary Kirby said it. It was in a link a few page back.

EDIT: Another thought, since the Arigena's concern is the economy, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a dedicated order of soldiers for defending caravans and trade routes that would fall into her sphere, sort of like the Ben-Hassrith in the priesthood, which would probably be mixed at least

Uh, lions and tigers are different species. Their evolutionary cousins, just more closely related than us and apes.

Lions and tigers are in fact different species.  But it's a little-known fact that almost all cats can interbreed, and the female offspring will usually be fertile.  Doesn't mean they aren't separate species--the male offspring are sterile, after all.

Not only are there differences in outward appearance, but also musculosckeletal structure, behavior, oh and geographical location--they are geographically isolated from one another.  They're related, but definitely separate species.

All "humanoid" means is "resembling humans."  Technically turians are humanoid.  So "humanoid" doesn't mean "human."

Actually, they are different species. They are the same genus.

Tiger = Panthera tigris

Lion = Panthera leo.

Yup I know but that I cannot answer, i am not a writer but in my mind it makes sense, since to preform a certain duty you have to become the gender associate with that role. And since some are forbidden, or you accept it or you die, There is not much choice there.
