Oh, my, Maker. Petrice, look at her horns.
They're just so big. [scoff] She looks like,
one of those Arigena.
But, you know, who understands those Qunari? *scoff*
They only talk to her, because,
she looks like a total Ben-Hassrath, 'kay?
I mean, her horns, are just so big.
I can't believe they're just so long, they're like,
out there, I mean - gross. Look!
She's just so ... Qun!

[Sten Mix-a-Lot]
I like big horns and I can not lie
Your other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist
And curly things in your face
You get sprung, wanna pull out your bar
'Cause you notice those horns are saar
Proud in the kas she's bearing
I'm hooked and I can't stop staring
Oh baby, I wanna get with you
And paint your picture
My homeboys tried to warn me
But those horns you got makes me so horny
Ooh, Rump-o'-smooth-skin
You say you wanna get wit' my Sten?
Well, use me, use me
'Cause you ain't that average groupie
I've seen them dancin'
To hell with romancin'
Astarit,
Itwasit
I'm tired of Basra
Sayin' flat heads are the thing
Take the average bronze man and ask him that
She gotta pack much hat
So, fellas! (Yeah!) Fellas! (Yeah!)
Has your girlfriend got the horns? (Hell yeah!)
Tell 'em to poke 'em! (Poke 'em!) Poke 'em! (Poke 'em!)
Poke them healthy horns!
Baby got prongs!

(Par Vollen horns with Seheron head)
Baby got prongs!

Yup I know but that I cannot answer, i am not a writer but in my mind it makes sense, since to preform a certain duty you have to become the gender associate with that role. And since some are forbidden, or you accept it or you die, There is not must choice there.

I'm not talking about choice, I'm talking about gender restrictions being applied inconsistency.

But that is point of their system, having gender restricting not base on skill but gender. Even if you suck at something it does not matter.

Either way this is pointless, we are going in circles. I just hope they do some variety for the body so everyone can enjoy playing the race.

To be honest they should be as muscular as their male counterparts, apart maybe from some body variations. I really do not want a female human with muscle. If they make the default male extreme muscular, the females should be extreme muscular. Please no gender BS differences that do not make sense.

Anyone actually convince when a tiny girls like Shepard beat James in a punching and pull up contest? If they want to make it believable then at least give Shepard a more athletic build instead of a bony model. I hope Qunari looks more muscular and broad like female barbarian. Not every female needs to have a hour-glass shaped figure.

Agreed the devs are definitely taking that into account as said in their Pax Panel

I hope for a Fem Qunari having a physique like that, but knowing Bioware I'm not holding my breath. It would minimize the really odd physical differences between the genders and - I can't speak for everyone, but I'm pretty sure that most people would be happy with that approach.

It is based partly on skill. The Qunari don't hand out roles to someone that would be incompetent. Skill is how they are assigned roles within their gender restriction. Clearly males aren't solely suited to combat in the Qun, as I mentioned, so I'm skeptical that there could be no role under the Arigena that incorporates them in some form as the military branch incorporates female roles. Especially considering their physical bulk. Is there no call for mining or other work that requires simple brute labor that would benefit the Qunari economy? Certainly females could do it, but why would the Qunari restrict their male's physical prowess solely to soldiery even if they don't consider them capable of being skilled artisans? It's not as if artisans don't require raw materials.

Difference in muscle mass depending on gender, isnt odd in reality though

A few pages back people have discussed the HUUUGE difference in body build between female and male Qunari. I'm not going to re-post and quote everything here. Go, read it.

Yeah, to summarize, humans aren't THAT different, muscle-wise.  Compare a female bodybuilder to a male and the difference isn't that great... athletic men and women of a more standard sort also aren't that different.  Their shape is a bit different, sure, and yes, men are generally going to be a bit heftier.  But then compare the qunari male with the qunari female.  She's like 1/4 of his size, and we're to take this as the "average" member of either gender for the species.  As Sten would say, "No."  She needs a bit more heft and muscle to make them more matched.  She doesn't have to have his bodybuilder shape for that, just a bit more bulk.  And no, the female athlete in the photo above wouldn't work, she hasn't got the mass behind her that a qunari female should have.   Too skinny, compared to the huge burly male.

Whats your point though?

The difference in body build between Qunari female and the Qunari male is SO big it seems like they don't belong to the same race. I'm not talking about reality, its simply a bad design choice. Giving the female Qunari a few physical traits from the male specimen would surely help, and thats mainly but not only adding some muscle mass.

Also one of the attractions of playing a male Qunari is playing a big, muscular giant that differs significantly from a male human inquisitor. However, it seems the difference between a human female and a Qunari female will be absolutely tiny eliminating the fun of playing an other race. And thats unfair.

To be serious, at the link are a variety of normal human women in very good shape. That's just a sample of the human race. The other races should be equally diverse. Financial constraints make that very unlikely, which means that there will probably one body shape for the female Qunari. Whatever it is, it ought to be similar enough to the male Qunari body shape to suggest that they are of the same species and not so off as to destroy the necessary suspension of disbelief for a fantasy roleplaying game.

Also, why does every female need to have the perfect hour-glassed shape? That would be boring. If people want to ogle female protagonists or want a conventionally beautiful protagonist then they could just make one out of humans and elves. dwarves should be rounder and short while Qunari should be big and muscular. That's just my take on it. If quanri protagonist has the option to intimidate the opponents using their size then the female qunari wouldn't be convincing if she's not even as big as a muscular human male. It wouldn't make sense if Qunari has a strength bonus over the other races. Female Qunari wouldn't make sense to be benefited from such bonuses if the human male looks bigger than her.

I doubt we will be getting more than that, although I agree with you. This is something I would at least like to have as an option too choose from but I am not holding my breath.

Go here http://biowarebase.n...ppropriate.com/ and listen to Playable races, the devs mention not wanting to make the sexed up stereotype in their females, specifically Qunari females

Totally agree with you, protagonists in games aren't couch potatoes or ballet dancers, If they kick serious butt they should look the part, but its sadly an unrealistic wish.

''Fit'' doesn't automatically mean having biceps the size of basketballs.

Sure it would. Tone muscle proportion to the unique body proportions of elves and dwarves, but keep the feel.

Assume much? The way Dwarves are built, wouldnt really make a toned physique look natural. Elves were designed to look smaller and weaker, so an athletically toned build would defeat the purpose
