I've created a simple utility that can log onto the Legacy BSN site and iterate through each of the project extract the project's details, files and images. Ultimately my plan is to use this tool to populate a database which we can then use to classify/catalogue these projects.
As a proof of concept I have parsed the first 500 projects (many of which are test projects from the BSN's beta and initial release or have been deleted) and created a simple index on the wiki. My hope is this Project Index will promote discussion of what we want from such an index: what it should contain, who might use it, etc.
The information presented for each project on that page is very basic and represents a small subset of the information that the extraction utility is capturing. The following image is an example of what can be extracted for each project (assuming the author has provided these details in the first place):
