So, as we know, BioWare has some of the best modern RPG's out on the market today, the time they put into character development, relationships, dialogue and ingame cinematic's is awe inspiring. I would like to get an opinion on something, what if BioWare developed a new RPG that is in an anime/manga type universe (Jade Empire does not count as anime or manga). Now before I get jumped on because of saying this and yelled at with comments like "nerd" and "geek" (lol), think about it.

BioWare could pull something like this off, they have a great track record with sci-fi and fantasy MMO's it would be cool to see an anime type on (which could be classified as either sci-fi or fantasy I guess, depending on the theme). Build relationships, be good or evil by making morale choices that effect the ingame world and sequels to follow (if they decided to makes sequels like MAss Effect) so on so forth.

So, any thoughts on this? lol I know its completely random, and on the Mass Effect forums but this is the most active BioWare forum at the present time due to the release coming soon. Image IPB

I'm lost. I thought 'anime' was an art style or animation style, not a genre. Fail on my part?

"anime" is an art style but that is also the general name for the TV adaptions of manga's (which are the books). Animes being like Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, Black Lagoon, Gundam, One Piece and for lack of more popular ones, Pokemon lol.

If bioware were to ever remotely make anything like and anime videogame or JRPG I would shoot myself in the balls.

Can't stand anime or JRPGs. At all.

It would not be like a JRPG, it would not even be remotely like Final Fantasy or the other ones, would be like Mass Effect or Dragon Age but in an anime setting. You can also only take what you say as a grain of sand because it seems your trolling with a name like Chuck Norris and you said you would shoot your balls so....NUFF SAID!

Perhaps he is, but I would understand it to some extent. The only anime games are JRPG's due to the fact they are either made from manga which is a asian creation (asian due to some come from china, korea, japan, etc).

BioWare does not do that style game. Nor do I think I would enjoy it if they did. JRPG's are best left to those who make them best, the Japanese. Just like anime/manga. When it is not asian made, it sucks horribly.

I don't troll good sir i only express my opinion.
By your logic i could also assume your a troll, seeing that you just created your account today.
spamming the mass effect forums doesn't help your argument either.

To be honest, I like the fact Bioware games aren't heavily stylised.

There comes a point where you add too much to a painting. You mix too many colours together and instead of creating a rich tapestry of vivid images and subtle shades, you just end up with a big brown mess. I fear that adding "anime" or "manga" influences would be one brush stroke too many - if you get my drift.

Did OP just post almost this same topic under another username? A topic that got locked pretty quick?

No, there's already an over saturation of anime/manga games and this would literally be a drop in an ocean that few people would notice.

Besides, that isn't in Biowares Western style. That's something they need to retain.

if its just like mass effect but looks like an anime... seriously why?! you'd attract 1000x more people if you just stayed with a realistic approach to art. Look at games like borderlands... (fun game btw) but majority of people were just pissed that it didn't look realistic, and therefore didn't even try the game. Im sure i'm not the only saying this but I'd certainly prefer a realistic art style over a huge eyed, no lips, tiny framed, crazy hair'd anime style (and the same goes for gears of war and their overly rugged tiny headed massive body art style)
