When there's a full lobby, two have readied up - you ready up also but the fourth player isn't ready. Therefore you give them the courtesy of a few moments to sort themselves out - 20-30 seconds and hitting spacebar again if they're still not ready.

And then one of the other two places a kick vote on the fourth while you're unticked and they're both readied up - which makes it look for all the world that you're kicking this player..."it wasn't me, honest!" Even worse when that fourth player is the host.

Great way to create a bad vibe in a pug lobby.

I'm only posting this because I hope there's a better system in ME4, or some way other than voice chat to communicate with other players.

It's not always easy to tell if someone is modding their loadout or just on the can. Maybe when you highlight them in the lobby it could tell you what menu they're looking at?

That could work, at least showing if they're afk or not.

I always scroll over to the right to see if they're adding ammo/equipment, changing guns, etc. After the courtesy "unready/ready" though, if they're not obviously changing things, I don't see the harm in kicking. I don't do it personally, but there's no harm in it @ that point imo

This dude accused me of putting a kick vote on him once. I just said "Watch the kick votes." and pressed Kick on and off a couple of times. "THAT was me." Easy.

Good point, neat solution.

If it involves a kicking game, I always lose.

Listen.

When a player is in the weapon customisation or consumables screen you can sometimes hear them equipping mods/consumables/gear, It creates a sort of "Kr-click" noise.

If you hear that it means the guy is doing something to his loadout, not AFK.

Also, if three of you ready up and the 20 sec countdown doesn't start, it means that the fourth guy is in the store making a purchase, hopefully buying a jumbo equipment pack so he can med-gel.

It only makes noise after actions have been confirmed. If they're still looking through mods or weapons it won't make any noise until they make a decision. Selecting equipment & equipment, and changing kits don't make any noise.

Ah, that would explain why I only hear the noises some of the time then.  Still, the point stands.

If you give them more than 60 seconds or so and you don't hear at least one "kr-click" from them, and they're not in the store for some of that time, then they're either very slow, highly indecisive, looking to leach, or just plain lazy.  Either way, I'm not going to wait more than a minute for one guy.

If I'm in a lobby I'm there to play, not shop, fully redesign characters, ect.  If people want to do something time consuming they should quit the lobby, get their **** together, then find a new lobby.

Selecting equipment & equipment

Lol. Looks like I was asleep at the wheel. That was supposed to say "equipment & gears".

I agree there should be some way of knowing if the player is there.

Also you can hear it if they are building their kit.

I find this to work particularly well if he has two kick votes already.

I think one other thing could be to put names to kick votes, rather than being anonymous.

Yeah. Tell them "I haven't put a kick on you but if you want me to prove it I can. Pity you won't be around for me to say I told you so."

Contrary to popular belief, PUGs have a superiority complex and hate to be carried by reasonable people

Maybe they were hippies? Do you know how long it takes for incendiary ammo to break down in a landfill? I dropped into a pug game midway through, clutched a couple waves, revived repeatedly, then got booted after because I didn't have a mic. I know because they told me, "sorry dude, you don't have a mic". On PS3 where most people don't. Them pugs be crazy.

So? Who cares what that player thinks. You guys place too negative of a stigma on being kicked anyway.
