You have to drive characters to their destinations on comnsole; you can't just click on them and click on the ground . The click on the ground system makes it far easier to position multiple characters at once, vital if you like to use rogues and mages, and combined with the zoom out feature it really does allow for better battlefield awareness. and response. The quickbar also has far more buttons than can be easily programmed onto a controller plus each action or item has an icon so I don't have to remember if firebale is Left Bumper + X or just X.Arttis wrote...
the only thing tactical wise x box does not get it tactical zoom<br />
thats it
so could work against you
besides we havent seen the extent we could program the ai so maybe no need for that
all moves can be used for x box*pause and play for a reason*
we can cycle through using x y b and a bumper and we can map it they way we want
also the wheel
and even on the x y b they have icons next to them
Im not saying the consoles are objectively inferior, nor that the custom ai will be anything but great. In fact, the previewers who've seen the scripting/custom ai options have all commented on how robust and helpful it is. I am just a control freak who treats all my characters like puppets on the battlefield and never uses scripts - it's just how I roll. I'm also not a fan of the control wheel, whether in PC games (Temple of Elemenetal Evil nonsensically had one) or games like Mass Effect. However, I fully believe the console version will be fun for most who get it and will be very playable and tactical. I'm not trying to start a flamewar, just stating my preferences. It's all good.

I have a NV 260 video card myself and I am... quietly confident that when this game's out, we'll be happy with its graphical goodness.Bara Rockfall wrote...
PC all the way. I just bought a new system since my old one didn't meet the minimun requirements. I now have an AMD 9500 quad 2.3 CPU with 4 GB RAM and a NVIDA 260 GPU. I plan on going to Windows 7 next week so let hope it all goes well.
A console is better value for money, true, and the control system of this game may be okay on a gamepad, but if you can afford a newish PC it's going to be clearly superior, I think. Mice = nice

- Better controls (Keyboard + Mouse > Gamepad {but im sure you will have the option to use pad,. I sometimes use both my 360 pad to move and my mouse for my view and attacks, etc))
- Higher Resolutions ( 360 = 720, PS3 =1080, PC = Hell I can use TrippleHead2Go for 5040x1050!
- Better Framerates (with a modest PC)
- Crank up the Anti Aliasing, Aniso Filtering for better geometry edges and texture clarity
- the Toolset!
- Integrated mod community
- Don't have to pay for mod content that the console owners will have to pay for
- Instant access to the social network.
- I'm sure there will be many other goodies that will come for the PC that the consoles won't get (early release of the character creator anyone?)

As for actual reasons:
It's originally a PC game (minor reason).
I almost always buy the PC version because they usually get more content, are always cheaper and normally have a higher graphics potential (the last aspect just mentioned for completeness' sake). Quick-slots and other PC-specific control features are a plus, too. Only when the devs botch the PC controls I'll resort to the PS3* version (although when that happens it usually isn't a good enough title for me to even get it at all to begin with).
I can use my pre-created characters (minor reason, but damn sweet).
It's got the toolset.
*Not to start one of those ridiculous console wars, but I see no point in getting an Xbox, never have - the few titles that are must-haves for me (and most other games) all get at least a PS3 or a PC release as well, usually both. The PS3 on the other hand does have some exclusives I can salivate over (as does the Wii). If your mileage varies, good for you.

I have to agree. Most of the XBOX exclusives come out for PC since Windows is also a Microsoft platform. Not to mention, they charge for their online service. But I have recently been thinking about getting a PS3 because of titles like Uncharted 2 and Demon Souls, as well as the BluRay player. The only XBOX title that I would like to play that hasn't hit the PC is Fable 2. But who knows, the PC could get a version later on down the line, and if they do, it will most likely have a bunch of added content that the original console release didn't have.twincast wrote...

This. Mainly because I am a PC gamer at heart.H8Cr1me wrote...
Although I am a PC snob, the PC is truly the best way to play this game (or any game for that matter).Console owners, you can now say, "Well I can sit my fat ass on my couch and play on my 63" plasma." Well PC owners can too when they have a PC hooked up to their giant TV. We can still play the game with a wireless mouse & keyboard, or a gamepad if we so choose; and still have all the benefits stated above.

Also because I do not have either console. But thats a moot point when you have an i7 chip tearing through operations faster than either console can start up. Though I would need to steal my borther's ps3 to play console only games (damn him for living 5 hours away).
Never understood why people love console controllers for anything besides fighting games...

except cheaper
computers have all the options but you also pay a lot for them
and to keep up to date and for protection
and so on
im not a pc expert
i like the console controllers better because they are simple
and im not gonna hurt my hands using them
