What I like about Dragon Age's dragons is them being powerful beings you rarely see.
I wouldn't want a dragon mount, really. A wyvern mount perhaps, but nothing more.

i dont think flying is necesary
i think gliding down from mountains or climb mountains side and make bigger jumps using wings is ok
so probably wyvern that can use wings

Of a likemind, would make Dragons kinda cheap.
What about a speed griffon?

Well griffons died out so I would want them back only in a Grey Warden-centric game. Yeah, I think we're going to get one, considering the Grey Wardens seem to be up to something.

If they ever introduced Halla as mounts for Dalish elves (or flat-ears as well, if that's your inclination), then I'd love to see a halla bucking a non-elf off if it tries to ride them. That'd be adorable.
I would beat that thing raw with the blunt of my broad sword if it tried that idiocy

Pack animals.
Which I probably mention because I just finally managed to get Dungeon Siege to run on a post-XP operating system.

They have already animated and tested as well as shown at least one of the "Boss" Dragon encounters for the game. The Dragon fly's around for a while, destroys things in the process, spits fire out all over the place all at the same time.
I think the system can handle a smaller flying mount.....
You're missing the point. The danger of a flying mount isn't the mount itself - it's the camera. Having the camera move that quickly across the landscape requires that textures and models be loaded much more quickly. Unless a flying mount moves comically slowly, that's a significant hardware load.

I want a griffin i just have to go by what the devs have said on the species and everything i have heard from this up until now has been the feathery buggers are extinct.
I blame the elves.

As long as we get horses with different coats and not just brown, light brown, medium brown, dark brown, and not sure if but most likely some other shade of brown, I'll be a happy camper.
Also, I'd totally dig hallas for just our elven Inqs. A human, dwarven, or Qunari Inq tries to hop on for a ride to the Keep? The halla bucks and sends them flying head first into a pit of, I dunno, something icky and smelly and... brown. Definitely has to be brown.

I hope companions will have mounts too, as funny as watching them run after my Inquisitor at +100 speed might be. ![]()

Ahh yes I hope so too! Otherwise it will be Skyrim all over again ...Unless,they "magically" disappear as soon as you ride your mount.

Ugh this is one of my greater concerns with the mount system. I'd hate to be riding around all by myself and just have all my party members disappear/reappear on me.

Horses pretty much just come in shades of brown (red-brown, brown-and-black, tan, etc.) or grey. Even black horses will usually have a brown sheen if you look at them in bright light (some are bluish, those are super-rare).
If there are more than one color, I'd think Bay, Black, Brown, Chestnut, White and Grey would be the standard, maybe some dun. You might get some variation on that with paints and appaloosas, palominos, and the like. There are lots of names for colors of horses, and lots of variations on those colors, but they'd probably tend toward more normal ones in DAI. So probably no appaloosa or brindle but maybe.
We could also end up with the Oblivion system of horses. Different colors are faster or sturdier. I confess I don't like that system; if they do something like that, I'd rather it be based on how the horse is built (heavier horses are slower) than their color.

Not to mention that "specific area" banter and interactions would probably disappear with the companions...I'd prefer to walk all the way from the Marches to Orlais, if this is indeed the case.
