Just FYI, I find hat discussions absolutely irresistable. The main problem with the world today is our lack of hats.

What? Your country isn't overrun with fedora wearing ass-hats?

Hey guys - I'm sorry for interrupting, I just wanted to pop in and say I'm absolutely thrilled you guys are already staring to populate this area with content. For some reason, when I was working on the new category structure, I was over the moon about these subforums
Thanks for breathing life to this section and happy RPing!

I doubt Flemeth have much interaction with Qunari to begin with, furthermore a Saarebas is never without his Arvaarad, so Flemeth would never get the chance to speak tot he Saarebas. Also, it is usually a bad idea to include important characters from the lore in a big way, in your own characters' background.

It's not like there haven't been Saarebas Vashoth before, one of them was a main antagonist in that dragon age felicia day movie. There is nothing wrong with making a qunari who just decides he doesn't want to live by the qun, it just means you have to acknowledge what that choice means.
Also, bouncing around a few ideas. Would people want to make a team, like a motley crew of sorts, or would they rather be more like a bunch of loners who go off on their own adventures and might end up meeting up.

I think that the best way is for a team to form organically through the RP. Like have the set objective of the set be to explore a dungeon, but start the RP at a local tavern. Then anyone who joins, who of course needs to come up with a motivtion for their character to go dungeon exploring, can meet the other characters and form a team, or choose not to.

As a GM, my favorite way to start a campaign is to tell the players, "Bring a character who has a reason to do [campaign premise]." Because constantly coming up with reasons to keep the Reluctant Adventurer, the Loner, and Ser Not-Appearing-in-This-Film in the story got real old.

@above: In a pinch, I just use paper cutouts. Cheaper, too.
Don't know where you'd get good actual miniatures, alas.

In forum RPs I've done, I leave out the main quest, as it'll train wreck into another RP. So, I'll act as a sideline character. Ex. Was in ESO RP, I was just another soldier, not THE soldier.
