Answer in March.

Yep, it's probably gonna happen.

@crimsontearz - How much will you pay them for the ending you wanted in the first place?

uhm...60$? Again? 80$ maybe?

it would have to be good tho because otherwise there would be really NO reason for me to even consider the purchase

Not seeing the point of this if it is just a rerelease.
Can already improve the graphics on pc so it would have to be major game play and consistency changes.
Mind you, not that they said they will rerelease for pc.
I go for shameless money grab to tie in with any me4 release.

well...if they pulled a Halo CE AE I would welcome that even with the Mass Effect 3 game play model for the WHOLE trilogy. Still tho that alone would not be enough for me to buy it. Besides a cash grab pre ME 4 would possibly make ME4's job even harder

If they include all dlc for ALL of the games then sure, also all 3 games need more work in bug and glitch resolution department. Otherwise i see no point at all.

Yes this is good, only reason i have my 360 is for these games.

Also, please release it with all the DLC as well. I will pay $60 for it

I'd buy the ME Trilogy for PC if they released it with all DLC anywhere from $60-$80. This includes all DLC weapons and armor.

Then I'd mod the **** out of it.

I think I paid about £60 for the trilogy and all dlc for the pc do any rerelease either has to be cheaper (but then why rebuy it) or have significant improvements to make it worth while.

A simple re-release would be a wasted opportunity, imo. A full redux of the original trilogy, rebuilt as one single continuous gaming experience, with updated gameplay, cohesive rpg mechanics, and redesigned levels (for example: uniquely designed enviromnents on ME1's secondary missions), would be greatly appreciated. And, maybe, cherry on top, a new twist on the ending. But that's just me daydreaming...

I'd be happy with that last part and a visual uplift.

but you know....might not be artistic enough

If it doesn't come with a real, non-Walter White ending I think it's a waste of money.

It wasn't my intention to derail the topic and turn it into some kind of ending-hate fest. What I was trying to say, in the context of a PS4/XB1 relaunch, is that I believe the trilogy could gain immensely in being carefully fine-tuned, to improve the cohesiveness of the narrative as a whole. And the ending is a significant part of that whole.

The thing is, why bother relaunching the trilogy "as is". We've all played it. It would be a lazy job and a wasted opportunity. On the other hand, a Mass Effect Trilogy redux, with improved gameplay and carefully selected enhancements - expanded Priority Earth, anyone? - and a more rewarding ending experience, could be a great motivation for many of us to "go back".

And when I say a more rewarding ending experience, I'm not saying (or at least expecting) a rewrite. Even sticking with the same premises BioWare has already established with the extended cut, they could still expand on what happened to the surviving crew, and offer a more customized range of epilogues with a genuine sense of closure for each of the characters.

I know there's a flaw to this thinking. It's "fan" centric, and partial at that too. Obviously, as a financial endeavor, a relaunch of the game will probably be considered for a wider audience, for which these requirements may be entirely meaningless. But why shouldn't BioWare take this opportunity to go that extra mile, and deliver something that would be greatly appreciated by many of their fans?

funnily enough tho, a simple reunion scene/minimal expo expansion would cost very little and rope in more buyers....you know like IAKUS and myself who otherwise do not see the point without breaking the art much.

I'd be down for a rerelease as long as they didn't do anything stupid with it like a certain other released next gen game *cough* Tomb Raider Ultimate Edition *cough*. Mass Effect (despite it's endings) is one of those classic games that deserves to be ported over and preserved for another generation. Obviously us that are a part of the #PCMasterRace will always have Mass Effect, but the reality is that not everyone games on a PC and a re-release would be justifiable, especially since the first one was built from the ground up to be a console game.

Also, it's about time we got a proper ultimate edition of the trilogy and all its DLC in some form or another.

Well, it does illustrate the problem with rereleasing the series.  Simply updating graphics and gameplay wouldn't be enough.  The trilogy received a lot of backlash and negative word of mouth once it was all said and done.  Unless that was addressed as well (something beyond EC) then that same cloud of negativity will hover over a rerelease.

Well it would take a bit more than just a reunion scene for me.  But it would certainly be a big step in the right direction

I think if they used the Fob mod as a base and did a pro job on it for the ending, that would probably do the job and set up the series for a sequel. He's got High, Med, and Low EMS versions now. Of course that ditches the entire starbrat ending.... lol. No, I guess that won't happen.

A new edition would indeed be a perfect excuse to go the Bladerunner way, and attempt to make/show a few scenes differently. Expand the story, fix and polish it. That way, it would attract those fans that still want to revisit the series and not just those that either haven’t bought the game already, or simply want upgraded graphics.

The possibility of experiencing new, different original endings, (aside the original ones, if they want to keep them), plus perhaps an improved beginning, and/or a different Tessia confrontation, and/or (gasp!) even a short roleplayable epilogue, would be very tempting for me.  Provided they made it also available on PC.
