I recall they hadn't made plans to remaster it when the trilogy was first released as a package, but I'm not too surprised if they changed their minds. I'd definitely suggest a remastered version to others, but whether I'd go back depends on how they handle it. The combat changed quite a bit over the 3 games, so I'd be happy to see a combat style that'd be consistently implemented over all 3 games.

But yes, it definitely has commercial possibilities and it's something to consider. For the moment, my focus is on the new Mass Effect.

I love ME the only reason I haven't updated to a PS4 is my 360 has the entire series with every single piece of DLC and I don't have the budget to retain the 360 and buy a PS4 id need to trade in

If they release all of the DLC on disc, this will be a must-buy for me. I haven't played any of it.

My hope is that they would put it on disc rather than release it online again (as far as I know, DLC from previous-gen is probably incompatible with next-gen games). And maybe if/when the time comes, I'll be able to afford a PS4.  :)

I really think this would go the way of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition - a graphical overhaul running 1080 60fps.

However...

...Maybe.. just maybe, with what they know about Frostbite and how the engine works (Battlefield 4, DA:I) and as a test for their Next Mass Effect game.... they could use a "next gen" Mass Effect Trilogy as a test for their future game mechanics that they want to put into the next one.

Also, I have no idea how coding would work to go from the PS3/360 era of the Unreal Engine to next gen version of Frostbite.  What about lip syncing in the new engine versus old recorded dialogue from the trilogy to PS4/XB1.  How is that handled?  Lots of questions on how this could be done.

At least for Tomb Raider, it appeared to be a short turn around from "last gen" to next gen.  And that also includes creating the multiplayer portion of the game for the PS4/XB1.  One could hope they could carry over ME3 multiplayer as well.

Wishful thinking probably.

And BioWare... do not change a thing as it pertains to the story... just incorporate the DLC into the main games.

Tomb Raider looks exactly like the PC version of the game, just with an updated Lara model that from what I understand is the one they were developing for the sequel.  There wasn't an overhaul or having artists come back and update anything for the re-release of the game.

The problem with a transition between Unreal and Frostbite could be huge issue for the engine functions and calls could be completely different requiring a lot of time and work to get done, the assets themselves probably would stay (and look) the same, but a lot of the functionality of the game probably would need to be created from scratch, especially if the Next Mass Effect game is different as well.

Pray they even bother to insert Hi-Res textures (if those haven't been lost already). That and all-DLC are the only realistic "improvements" you can expect for a re-release like this, it will already cost $$$ to make new port, EA sure won't spend any additional cent for gameplay/large graphics enhancements

And yeah, Tomb Raider on PS4bone only had new Lara model, everything else was from PC

If that is the case im wondering what tweaks they are going to add to it. Im hoping they add somethings maybe or tweak a few things like the renegade/paragon point system in Me2 and to allow us to pick our characters in whatever order we want like they were originally going to do but couldnt due to Xbox 360's limited disc space.

Maybe im asking for too much   :P  but im hoping its being ported with some improvements if it is indeed being ported over

Call me crazy but I would rather wait 5 more years before a ME HD Trilogy comes out. By then they should have a handle on getting the maxium out of next gen consoles and the ME Trilogy would feel fresh again with that long of a absence. Also the ME3MP could use a few fixes and extras. Ideally the ME HD Trilogy would come as a complete package and all on one disc.

For the love of Almighty God Bioware... I hated the ending, still do, but if you do this I will gladly fork over money. No joke. I will pay for the trilogy...again...as I have the games for 360 but now own a PS4 and no way to play them. Take my money I'm begging you.

PC will still be better. LOL! I wouldn't mind but this a last-gen sci-fi classic. It should stay on last-gen, and not be moved onto next-gen, 'cause who knows if the Multiplayer servers would work.

This. Don't change the story and give us all the DLC, and I'll be happy to buy a new trilogy edition for whichever next-gen system I end up purchasing.

I can't believe I read through five pages of this and there hasn't been one "this mean's Shepard is coming back for ME4" conspiracy.

Is the BSN evolving?   :D

Seriously though, I would buy the hell out of this...probably on BOTH consoles. But ALL DLC has to be included.

I'm not touching them either way, and for the many that will, previous-gen servers are shutting down sooner or later, so current-gen will be the only place console players will have...

I will only fork over the money if they give us access to the MEHEM mod for the PS4 version otherwise... why pay for something that is only going to agitate me in the end?

MEHEM is non-canon and will never be acknowledge in the ME lore or by Bioware, not to mention there are a lot of legal issue's regarding modding on consoles.

Who cares about multiplayer? Worst idea to ever be in ME. I hated the idea of it more than I hated the ending. I never even tried it because it has no place in ME.

As for next-gen. I wouldn't mind as long as it gets an overhaul and/or includes all DLC. If it has only one of those conditions it's an instant buy for me.

One disc for all 3 games and DLC? Doubtful. Even with Blu-ray I don't think it's possible. ME3 with all DLC is over 20gb ME2 with all DLC is about the same. ME1 is 12gb. A dual-layered Blu-ray disc can hold 50gb max. This would be a 2 disc minimum.

>speaking in absolutes

The Multiplayer was (and still is, to a degree) the BioWare Redemption Zone.

Anyway, yes. I would gladly pay for it again for the new consoles, even if all the did was spruce up the graphics a bit.

Yes, I never tried it. Because it does not belong there. It is the wrong genre for it, period. I mean, what is this CoD? GoW?

Seeing as how Bioware released 5 DLC packs for MP, the next ME game will have it for sure.

It's perfectly fine that you feel that way, but saying that something is "the worst thing to ever happen to x" without having tried it is a bit silly.

But I don't want to derail this thread any further, so, how about that next-gen trilogy?
