I think they dont have to cannonize an ending but all endings, they had the recipie we all wanted all along, the quarians and geth join in synthesis, the mass relays are used as a weapon to pulse energy out to kill the master AI controling all the reapers, shepard survives but we dont play him/her again in the next game and the cutscene is relevent to the people who survived.

They did it perfectly well in dragon age without making us kill them.

All they have todo then is remove the dreams, holographic kid and the last 10 mins, make the kid just a kid who tugs on sheps heart strings to show they are fighting for humanitys existance and use harbringer via the illusive man to try and stop shepard. Bang all is good.

And the coup de grâce is the fact that the illusive man can be brought back in the exact same way as shepard was for the peeps who love him, the war assets can actually mean something, and any saved data is relevent as the changes in a few centurys are large but noticable with rotation npcs and planetry availablity without impacting on any sequels to make the saves not game breaking in lore and story differences.

So doing that now would build hype to play the new trilogy on next gen, and in turn build hype on the next title.

That might not make it "all good" for everyone and that is the problem with making any changes to the game.  The problem is anyone around here is going to put their own personal ideas into a suggestion and think its the best way to proceed and it is what they want, but it could be the farthest thing from what enough people want to generate any positive hype or worse cause negative response.  I saw many threads about how they wanted Shepard alive and making unlimited kids with their Love Interest, but how many people don't have that much interest in those love interests.

The problem is they didn't do it perfectly in Dragon Age, for there are a lot of people that are upset that we aren't playing The Warden, Hawke, or The Old God Baby for the catch is people grow attached and frankly if there is any room for Shepard to survive there is going to be people demanding or threatening never to buy another BioWare game because Shepard isn't their avatar in future Mass Effect games.

Well here is the key, with shepard alive (which they introduced via the extended ending) might not make it so that we can play them in the next game or the next trilogy BUT leaves the option to play them again at some point, be it a main game or a mini dlc type game to fill in the blanks that shows a join between the old trilogy with the new one. Dragon age did this via lore and by oriana nipping in.

And for the making it all good for everyone or the bulk of everyone then bioware have to sit down like grown ups and say right, we understand that no one will ever agree on which of these endings are correct, so we want the community to come together as a whole and discuss the merits and downsides of the endings and how one ending made from all the choices could work.

Now if bioware are willing to understand why people are upset and not simply swipe it off as ye there upset but who cares like they have done to this point. but for all we know bioware have done this already and we cannot go a week without people asking for the endings tobe dumped. or outright wars between the playerbase on who is right.

For the lovechild, it could be done simply via an open option on race and mixed race to who you play as the love child, or not a love child at all and fold it all into the story in the same way they did in the original mass effect where you chose, are you a spacer, born on earth etc and just fold mini mission to key into it.

Because at this point in time, everyone in the fanbase agrees that mass effect 3 is an amazing game. The arguments and disgruntlement comes from the star child and the ending which made everything you had done previously irrelivent which goes directly against the grain of everything that mass effect is.

And in concern to dragon age, most people were upset with the gameplay and not the narrative which is the opposite of mass effect 3.

But where we stand right now, the feelings on all sides. Doing nothing will only lead to heart ache, arguments and retaliations against bioware. If you think Bioware are immune to angry fans, just look at SWTOR.

Mmm. Mass Effect: Revisited. Sounds like a lovely name for the trilogy port. Plz don't just throw in the word trilogy for the casuals. Pull a Francis Ford Coppola and make it incredible sounding. Mass Effect: Redux. Remastered. Restoration.

What I'm really getting at, is that I want these rumors of a trilogy+DLC port to be real.

If they announce it at E3 I'd be very pleased. Rumour is GTA5's next gen port and the next ME will be announced, why not build the proverbial bridge?

I definitly hope the rumors of a next gen port are real as well but all the dlc plus the previous games being updated to ps4 graphics would make my day

Honestly it's the only way I will ever grind through the 1st game again. Bioware/EA there's $150 for you here if you want it

x1000000 people who would also buy it :P

The first game is a grind? It's the shortest of the three, with very few mandatory missions. You have Eden Prime, then evidence hunting on the Citadel, then you simultaneously gain access to Feros, Noveria and Therum and Virmire after doing two of those. Then it's Ilos and the final mission. So 8 missions. On the easiest difficulty, you'd be able to power through it in 5 hours I'd say.

Feros, Noveria, Virmire, Ilos and the final missions on the Citadel were the best parts of the game, Eden Prime, evidence on the citadel and Therum were boring. I personally try to do all the side quest as fast as I can before I start the main missions.

You know I always wonder how the more artistic developers like Bioware, Valve, and Irrational feel when they see crap like this. Yes, you can beat Bioshock in 4 hours if you run through it on lowest difficulty aiming for checkpoint spots ignoring everything. You can also watch the entire 5 seasons of Breaking Bad at 2x speed audio/video to cram it all into one afternoon, and blend your icecream into paste so you can gargle it all in one go.

The game is a grind because the inventory system is extremely taxing to manage, and if you want to get the most out of the game you're on uncharted planets meandering around for small rewards accumulating.

Why in the world anyone would play a Mass Effect game by trying to squeeze it into 5 hours is beyond me though. Even my first ever playthrough in 2007 was 35 hours and I've done 6 or so, all around 40 hours.

Now excuse me while I go listen to the new Black Keys album simultaneously with the new Coldplay album alongside Yeezus during The Walking Dead.

Edit: Seriously dude, even a moderate playthrough of any main story mission itself runs me about 3.5 hours, your post is just ridiculous. Sorry.

Uh... He's saying what you could do if you just wanted to get through the game, not that you should.

Secondly if it is taking you that long to get through the missions you need to look into... Something. They aren't that long if you are playing at a reasonable rate.

Thank you. Never would I advocate rushing through it. But if you just want to get through it to have an import file for ME2, it's certainly not a grind. There are sub-2 hours playthroughs on YouTube.

Kevin, I didn't mean to offend you. It seems the only way you're playing through it is doing everything, which is fine of course. For me a game is only a grind if you can't complete the mandatory stuff without grinding. So I misunderstood you, I'm sorry.

I'm sure the developers know the difference between all-encompassing playthroughs and speed-runs and are perfectly fine with the latter and me stating facts about the mandatory missions and realistic speed-run times (or "crap" as you so eloquently put it).

Gotcha :P

Edit: Just for reference:

http://www.howlongto...ame.php?id=5698

Main game 17.5 hours, completionist 42 hours, average 27 hours

Edit 2: also the average speedrun of the main story the fastest guy did in UNDER TWO HOURS some people are crazy haha

Wouldn't it be great if there was a new multiplayer thing added in with any remastered trilogy?

I vote for a multiplayer dance-off competition.

If they add offline co-op, I'd play that.

The only reasons that I don't trade in my Xbox 360 is because of GTA V and the Mass Effect Trilogy.  If either or both came to next gen consoles, I would be incredibly happy.

Yeah I have to admit I would probably buy all three on my PS4 with a nice graphics upgrade etc (although I would be a bit weary of ME1's combat...and wondering around on the uncharted planets for hours just to find some Asari's writings or Turian Insignias...and that nightmare of a inventory system)

But at the end of the day, it really depends on the DLC, ME2 and 3 had a lot of DLC most of which I've bought, soooo it might be a no if I had to buy the trilogy and all the DLC again for the second time.

Chalk another one down under the "all DLCs included and I'd buy it" mark.

Because I totally would.

Does anyone know for sure if they are going to remaster the ME trilogy for the next gen consoles? i cant stop thinking about it and hoping that it happens. i also found that xtralife.es posted ME for next gen but stillim not sure since they didnt show anything at E3 which kinda dampened my spirits for it to come to next gen.

There is nothing known aside from "they talked about it" at some point.

An ME Trilogy pack (with all the DLC) for Xbox1 would sell like hotcakes.  I would be even better with expanded Kinect voice command support across all three games similar to what ME3 has on the 360. Make it happen BioWare/EA

I would love a Ps4 ME Trilogy with 1080p, 60 fps, all the dlc, and the combat in ME 1 tweaked to work as well as ME 2 &3.

I hope they modernise or remove that planet scanning for resources eh thing. Hmmm thinking about it. You don't have to play ME as an rpg . You can switch to action gameplay . In all these years i have never done that. Anyone has ?
