Regarding the valiant - sure, there are at least half a dozen better choices, such as the paladin. The point is the valiant is effective enough and offers a different flavour to gameplay.

It's still my favourite pistol (I don't like the arc pistol) - prefer to use it on the QFI when I get bored of the javelin, and also goes well with a drell in a white suit (got to look good)! There was a time when Paladin was considered the best weapon in the game and everyone wanted one. It still is a good gun though I barely ever see someone using it in pugs these days.

Scenario: giant center hack, you have everything coming in the circle from all sides and on top of all that, a merry fellowship of troopers is unloading on you from the balcony and you're too engaged down to wait for them to put their heads on display.
Deploy a stun suicide drone by targeting one of the bastards and you have now bought yourself and your team valuable time to deal with the mess downstairs.
There are a lot of more examples, primes for instance who will always be interested to fight off the drone, giving you some slack and time to escape/deal with more imminent threats...
I'm not trying to convert you mate or anything, just pointing out some pros of the drone

You get 2 - may as well spec them completely differently.
I go with a 6/6/6/5/3 power build (normally with an Arc Pistol) and a 0/6/6/6/6 drone-less detonator build with a Venom; both work.
The biggest plus-point with the Drone? Trolling Nemeses! (hate those snap-firing snipey moo-bags).

Yeah, the charge up mechanics is something that needs some practice to get use to, and still it's not for everyone. My mouse left key is being raped by using things like acolyte, venom, graal...
Paladin is a great substitute for Arc pistol if you hate the charge up, and it's probably the best HP for a sniper wannabe. My FBW farmer AA caried a scoped paladin, and after her I used it the same way on the Fury for quite some time. (That was a time when hurricane was but a myth and it seemed like the RNG gods will never alow me one)

Chain overload will get the job done, true, but you will take fire still, and you'll have to flee your position b/c of an occasion granade being thrown your way.
Now if you happen to land a zapper in their ranks, most likely now is that you've got 2 or maybe even no barrels poited at you, giving you room to breathe and plan your next move.
In addition, you could easily do a 6/0/0/6/6 build and use only the drone in combination with incindiary ammo. The absence of overload and incinerate would be felt of course but as far as mook crowds are concerned, you're safe.

How can someone say they don't like the Arc Pistol on anyone? It can make any class the best class.

Oh and in many hack situations, the drone can postpone the overflow of things for a considerable time. Again mostly mooks, but that's where the real danger is.
(I can't help being an advocate for the little bastard, it's the best pet power IMO)
Agreed...drone is the best pet we have and both flavors are good

Did I mention? I also don't like the hurricane, new/old acolyte (prefer instant fire), GPS, BPP, krysae, executioner, falcon (working on it), typhoon, striker, argus, valkyrie, mattock, reegar... to name a few.
How can someone say they don't like the Arc Pistol on anyone? It can make any class the best class.
That's not how you spell Claymore.
-----------
Actually I tell a lie - I don't enjoy the claymore as much as the wraith.

Yeah, AA is another one which is great witht he paladin.
The two weapons I can do with charge up are the graal and the venom - love both of them, although as you said my mouse (and fingers) don't agree.
The arc pistol on the other hand requires a long charge up and accuracy - which isn't relaxing at all. Sure the graal also requires decent accuracy, but is fully charged in under a second and feels more like a futuristic crossbow/bow with drawback time.

Your comment is subjective. That's one of the best things in the game, what one loves and does wonders with it be it a kit, a weapon, power, the other will hate and do poorly with it and ultimately never use it because it doesn't fit their play style or personal prefferances.

I respec'ed and brought a 66653 power build with zappy drone HE to platinum with my beloved incendiary striker. I even took engineering kit over geth scanner, and power amp over cyclonic. Great platinum build. It was very satisfying to see a prime turn around to face the drone I plopped down behind him. I'm thinking: sucker!!

REEGAR isn't in the dictionary as far as I know - unless it's one of those new slang words being included.

Anyway, back to the human engineer - the beauty is that every single weapon works great with him/her. Not many characters where that's possible.

Next time I get on I may try HE and spec with no drone as drone is weak IMO. Gona slap a Harrier and Arc Pistol for kicks and see how it goes.
