The valiant is in a bit of predicament here.... It almost has the same damage and ROF stats of the paladin which has access to better damage mod and optionally power amp and also can do away with scope plus 1.0gib chance ( very important ). That is why I never use valiant on non infiltrators and use Indra/CSR on the human/geth engy .

The valiant does have one advantage over the paladin:  Ammo application.

If I shoot a enemy with the valiant, I can pretty much guarantee that they'll be chilled or frozen, while the paladin seem less consistent about applying cryo ammo.

My build exploits this by using cryo ammo as a fail-safe for if I miss the head-shot, or I'm too rushed to aim for the head.

As long as I hit the enemy anywhere at all with the first shot, I'll have all the time in the world to aim the second.

Erm isn't overload enough to ensure clean headshots.... I agree that the valiant has an advantage in ammo application and can be superior compared to the paladin in a cryo incinerate build though

Overload can make some targets arch back, which sometimes blocks a headshot with their torso. Though I guess you could wait til they recover a bit.

I've been able to get better headshots by using incinerate to trigger the diving roll dodge since the head will be in a predictable position within a second.

Next time I get on I may try HE and spec with no drone as drone is weak IMO. Gona slap a Harrier and Arc Pistol for kicks and see how it goes.

You're right. Drone is weak. But it shouldn't be strong.

I have a feeling that most of the players misunderstand the role of the drone. You shouldn't expect a killing machine. It's a utility, and the signature power of the HE.

True..I also use incinerate on unshielded mooks to stop them and use overload only on shielded ones

Yup, that's usually plenty good enough to get head-shots all day erry day.  Usually.

I mostly use cryo ammo on that build to make use of incinerates 6a freeze combo evo, the cryo freezing on mooks acting as a fail-safe for if I miss is just a bonus.

I speced into neural shock after i saw someone post about it doing extra damage to organics

didn't seem like that much to me

plus it knocks the bad guys down and makes their heads hard to pop

so I never spec into neural shock anymore
