Please, feel free to point to where I insulted anyone, blackpotme.
I'd rather just wait to see you prove anything you said about the game true.

I'm not denying that sometimes you have to let a teammate bleed out for the good of the team and that you shouldn't put yourself in situations where you're highly likely to be killed just for the sake of a revive. I'm just saying that if you are losing all three of your teammates so early in a wave to the point where you're having to kill the entire wave budget by yourself, then you're probably not trying hard enough to save them.
Honestly I think the problem is that so many people here are just too quick to dismiss their teammates and too quick to cut loose when things get bad without ever making a genuine effort to help them. I'm not saying you should to charge straight in and try to revive them, but with a bit of thought there is always some way in which you can help at least one of them, whether it be kiting the enemies away and coming back, or simply using a rocket to clear the area. Instead though people seem to immediately deem it to be pointless to try and help and just decide to solo instead.
I get what you mean and i agree people should atleast see if the situation can permit a ninja revive but there are so many variables with this. Sometimes enemies ninja stomp, sometimes when you missile the enemies spawn right there again, sometimes you cant kite because its all enemy lock on based, some enemies just stay in one spot or dont move much. Im speaking on playing platinum games with Pugs. You have to be really careful. You also have to use your missiles wisely too and sacrificing a missile to save a Pug (in some cases 2 missiles) could be a missile loss for a bad objective wave situation. Also its a team game so the responsibility should be divided evenly one person should be responsible for reviving everyone if they are all going down. Why arent you going down? Because you are making wise choices. So people should be more mindful and use their medigel when they make mistakes and i understand people run out of medigel and if thats the case they need to slow down a bit and start utilizing the cover system. Im not saying dont revive, revive if and when the situation permits and if not then that person is a liability and is better off bled out, in platinum atleast.
You contradicted yourself and gave very bad advice.I'm not denying that sometimes you have to let a teammate bleed out for the good of the team and that you shouldn't put yourself in situations where you're highly likely to be killed just for the sake of a revive. Very articulate, "no u" comment you have there.
First, to try out new kits, characters, weapons, builds etc. Soloing is the fastest way to find the best and worst in a new kit.
Second, to acquire the skills needed to clutch a wave when necessary, and to stay alive all the time. To learn when it's time to stop reviving and start clutching.
Third, to learn about the enemy's behavior, where they spawn, how the move, and more.
Fourth, to rid yourself of bad habits. Learn to play fast but with patience and caution. Discover those mistakes that always get you killed.
And more, but that's enough to do it.
I don't really get why if you solo on a multiplayer game, you instantly get UBER PR0 $K1LLZ
I only attempted to solo a bronze and I fail miserably on wave 1.
I'll just put down my personal reasons why I solo (or attempt to, anyway):
1) Helps me become familiar with a new kit and/or loadout. If my teammates are all killing enemies before I can do anything, I can't learn. By now, I know how the enemies work and what the maps are like; those are two learning curves I don't have to worry about. It's a testing ground for me.
2) Teaches me how to handle pressure. A lot of the other veterans will laugh at me for this, but trust me— my hands still shake when I'm the last woman standing in a match. Personally, I'm not naturally great handling that sort of pressure. Soloing helped me with that because I finally knew what I was capable of without having to do it while others watched over my shoulder. I learn new tactics this way, too, and refine what I already have in my armory.
3) How good am I with the classes I'm comfortable with, really? I'm able to get in tune with those kits without having the clutter of other people.
4) Due to those above reasons, I've actually become a lot better at playing with a full team. Knowing my strengths let me focus instead on what others are doing and how I can amplify that in turn so everyone wins. It's quite nice.
So, no... I don't solo for the glory and I am by no means an uber elite. But I'd be lying if I said soloing didn't help me become the player I am today.
I like soloing cause it's another challenge for me. Hell, I used to solo the living daylights out of horde mode on Gears of War 2 and 3. Soloing on this is more entertaining, it also refines your ability to clutch a team game should the need arise (which happens pretty frequently in a pug game, had such a situation happen yesterday in a plat match).
mostly to learn how to clutch...... I do not enjoy soloing..
i'm not a big fan of soloing. i've only done it a few times, granted it was on bronze and silver games but most of the time it was public and no other players showed.
Variety . Its also the best way to test out a new build even if you don't end up completing the solo.
Many times I have committed suicide after wave 6 on a gold solo because I am low on consumables and dont want to slog it out to extraction and/or I have done enough at that stage to know what I think of the build.
Not really my thing either (I have less than zero interest in it) but I can see why it appeals to some. Meh, whatever. Other people soloing does not really affect me so I don't really care.
That's exactly how I read your "manifest = skill" comment when I gave you a very specific case.
There's no point arguing with Tokendouche, he will never, ever admit he was wrong.
I tried different techniques to get a response and they all led to him evading a direct answer. I'll just give up lol.
On topic, it's also nice not having to race against other people to kill enemies. Sometimes my Turian just likes to walk around and kill nonchalant, and that's hard to do when everything is dead.

And you're a brony.

Agree wholeheartedly here. Those waves where you just don't catch a spawn are just not fun.
Still a silver player with approx 300 hrs, I would say that for me, my three or so (unintentioned) bronze solos have made me take some significant steps up on my skill level. You´ll be forced to, and can focus on, improving a lot of the basics - how to move around, when to take cover, awareness, kiting. I think a simple bronze solo is a bit faster way of learning some of these things. At least at my level.
^ Agreed, my first few bronze solos actually really helped me transition into being able to play gold without being a complete liability bc of how much they taught me about staying alive and how enemies behave. And playing gold is pretty much the only place to learn the rest of what you need to know about being an asset to a team on gold lol
For me soloing takes more patience and concentration than i usually feel like i want to expend for a single match but every once in a while it can be pretty rewarding for the challenge~
The point of soloing is keeping your skills sharp.
It depends on your approach so :
If you are normal:
-practicing situational awareness
-challenge yourself to see if you can overcome all the BS that the game has to offer... and not get mad in the process
-have some 1on1 fun with Phantoms
If you are stupid, pathetic and have no sex life:
-do it for the attention
-do it for your e-peen, cos' yeah it's so small, that playing a videogame can make it bigger (LOL)...
