Its been stated that Elves, Dwarfs and Humans can breed with each other yet as far as I'm aware we haven't seen anyone who has had parents from separate races. I'd quite like to see that partly to simply see what they look like and partly to see how they are treated in society (probably very lowly). And if they are fertile as well then scientifically speaking Dwarfs, Elves and Humans are all the same species.

Also while were at it could we find out whether Qunari can breed with other races?

We also had Alistair.

The Qunari question on the other hand is unknown, though considering we can play as one we may learn this game in the romance subplots.

It's still open to interpretation wether or not Alistair is Fiona's kid.

Though I personally beleive it.

well we don't know for certain if Alister elf blooded as the only hint we get it that his mother was propaably a serving girl (who may well of been an elf seeing as many elves are). Of course she could also of been Fiona.

True. I believe he is the son of Maric and Fiona though so I use him as an example. ^_^

The bolded part doesn't really matter. If Alistair was the child of a random serving woman then his sister would almost certainly have to be elven.

Not denying that. My original point was that we hadn't seen any in-game. I'd forgotten about sandal, didn't know slim couldry was elf blooded and I haven't played DA2 yet so I didn't know about Feynriel. Sorry, from now on i'm going to properly research before posting a topic.

Sandal is a half-breed?

In the Legacy DLC, you can overhear two Carta members saying that Sandal looks like 'that Aeducan bastard that got lost in the Deep Roads a while back'. They then proceed to debate whether his mother was an elf or a human.

Whether this explains anything about Sandal remains to be seen. Either way, it's amusing that he may be the dwarf noble Warden's half-brother or cousin or something.

"Half-Breeds" aren't really a thing in DA. But as far as we know, anything with an elf is whatever the other race was(elves are genetically "submissive") and mixing a human and dwarf only creates a slightly shorter human/slightly taller dwarf, depending on how you want to look at it. No clue on how any of the three races mixing with a qunari turns out though.

As for how they are treated, elf/human mixes are treated like humans, unless their elf lineage is revealed, then they face some discrimination. Elf-blooded humans can also be accepted into a Dalish clan, if the Keeper allows it, though they will still mostly be a human in the eyes of the other elves and not be treated the same. Dwarf/human mixes are probably rarely noticed and nobody most likely cares.

Didn't David Gaider or someone say that there was such a thing as a Dwarven/Human half breed but they were so rare that if a human-dwarf couple got pregnant the more likely explanation would still be infidelity?

You mean Zevran? No, his father was a city elf and his mother was Dalish.

I'd be interested in finding out if the kossith can breed with the other races. They were originally made by magic right? I don't know if that makes it more or less likely they'd be able to...

Wait, when did this happen? Do you have a source?

There's that guy in DAO's Denerim who gives you the Dark Wolf jobs too - he grew up in an alienage due to his parentage even though he looks human.

Not sure about qunari, but as others have posted, a half-human, half-elf will always be a human.  It is not known if this is true over many generations, as in elf-born humans having children with elves over and over again, Gaider replied to me on that once and basically said genetics are not a thing in Thedas.

I thought a human/dwarf was also supposed to result in a human, but if Sandal is half-human, then that means half-dwarves are always dwarves.  If he's half-elf, that means that elves are validly in danger of extinction.

No idea if qunari hybrids are possible, or fex for that matter, and if they are whether the child would be a hybrid or just one race or the other as with human/elf.
