I have recieved this message several times after trying to download some projects. Its starting to become frustrating because it still does this even after the patch was installed, not that it would have any way...

I have done all but lost hope about this issue. I've tried googling it, looking it up on the wiki, and here in the tech support. Now I come here really needing some help.

When you download the projects just save them to your harddrive. Don't try to open them right away.  (And if your browser trys to open them anyways, just ignore the error).

Instead go to the DAUPdater.exe application in the bin_ship directory in your Dragon Age Installation path and open that. Then drag the .dazip files you saved onto the open application and install them that way. If they get renamed to .zip files in the download process, rename them back to .dazip before installation.

I've tried looking for a bin_ship directory and I don't have one. Should I reinstall the game?

Just try searching for daupdater.exe on your computer.
