Have you ever played with a terrific teammate - someone with skillzzzzz who yet somehow screws up your spawn preferences every single wave?

Do you yield and join their clearly inferior spawn management plan, or stubbornly cling to your old ways, making the entire match a painful challenge with enemy flanking you at every turn?

Also, is there a "best" starting placement for every wave, every map?

Sorry, don't try the whole min/max poop sock thing. I'm just here to play the videogame.

Only if there's another player in the match that is going all out on score and it turns into a bit of a competition, then I'll pay attention to my and the rest of the team's position to try and give myself an advantage for the next spawn.

If not then I don't care - tickle the bosses and head for the mooks (that's where all the fun is).

Depends on the map and the players...and whoever's "map start" is considered better or worse is subjective, I'd think.

At the end of the day I have no problems running for a better vantage point if a spawn gets pushed behind me.

It depends on where my teammates are and also the map that we get.

I'll look and try to position myself near where I predict the spawn to be. Sometimes the other person does the same and the spawn chasing begins. Some games I just don't care because everyone is so good that the spawn will come to me next after they wipe out the initial one. I do find it frustrating when I lose track of player location and the enemy spawns behind me.

Edited to fix tiny font size.

Normaly I would compete, but lately I just focus on the little poor scared puglings that don't know where they are when it starts. Besides, in most cases that guy is gonna need a medic sooner or later.

I will usually stick to my normal strategy for the first few waves in the hopes they will see the light and follow my lead, and if they don't

then I'll try and figure out the best way to make their tactics work and do my best to help them, even if it's a terrible plan.

The map start is a bottomless pit if you ask me.

I don't care how they handle spawns as long as they're shooting things. I play the game because I like shooting things. It's more fun if the things I'm shooting put up a fight. Challenges are preferable to easy wins!

It doesn't matter much to me. I check everyone's position every wave and figure out where they'll spawn.

But it drives me crazy when pugs stand in the Glacier/White basement.

usually i'll yield (except maybe on glacier). I figure if half the team's in one place the odds of predicting spawns improve some at least...

This used to annoy me, occasionally.  I don't mind any more though, as my annoyance was a symptom of dependance on the meta game.  Now I embrace the disruptions, or at worse just shrug.

Besides, pugs gonna pug.  Myself included. No excuse me while I aim all my wave 11 missiles at the back corner of Hydra.

I try my best to screw the spawn up if I saw anyone pulling out a missile before the start of a wave.

Standing in the basement of white ticks me off cuz I camp on the ladder and snipe the mooks that spawn down there.

Offtopic - Hellman77 why did you have to ruin Legion's good image by ponyfying him?

Having, especially, Cerberus spawning on the LZ of White can be a pita with their turret spam.

Ponyfying.... I like that word... Anyway... Legion is a gentle spirit which I think really shines through in this image.

I don't really try to control spawns much. The spawning in this game is effed up anyway; even if everyone stands where they're supposed to, spawns split, appear right in front of you etc. so I don't get too caught up in that.

I got bored and I googled all the ME characters as ponys and I think I burned an image in my retinas that will never heal.

Oh god not the Tali pony D:

I've never been a fan of plans. I prefer to sprint around and let whatever happens, happen. Being organized makes things too easy (in general) for me, and even if it doesn't; I enjoy having to get by on reactions alone.

But, if someone is really set on having spawns managed and is cool about it--I'll help 'em out... Momentarily. It's just not in my blood, ha ha.

I usually have a preference on every map on where I want to force the spawns when the wave start, but if someone is messing things up a bit it is not really hard to adapt and figure out where the spawn will end up instead.

I do have preferences on where I want spawns to come when I'm using certain loadouts, like having enemies spawn in the left plaza from the center building on Ghost when I'm using a Sniper build. That said, I've got no issue with adapting to the other spawn areas if those don't work as I want them to.
