When I migrated to xbox, I noticed that you guys stand in different places to control spawns (weirdos) so I messed up a lot of spawns in the beginning, and I still do a lot of the time.

I'm used to a certain way, and it's not that I'm too stubborn to change my ways, it's just that I don't know where you want me to stand instead :(

Lol. I like the subtle jab in the middle of that sentence.  ;)

Or I'd rush to beat them to the spawn and nuke it instead. That'll learn em.

Or rush to beat them, hit a single mook that strayed forwards and get immediately sync killed by a banshee. That's spawn nuking with style.

That would mean lowering yourself to their level, though. I never do that. If I nuke something, it's with a precise reason. Most of the times it's rage XD

I have no shame.

I love blocking the basement spawn on Glacier during extraction. Watching PUGs struggle with the infinitely respawning enemies is entertaining.

My nuking runs are epically terrible but I regret nothing. On collectors, it's almost mandatory I blow the hell out of myself on a kamikaze run into the spawn.

It don't matter no nevermind to me where they stand.

I am a robot. I am unsuspected and undetected.  It is said that proximity mine can cause a lot of ringing in the ears.  Thankfully, you will be no where near them when this occurs.

Don't care.

I just hate the LZ spawn on White and the ridge on condor.

Maybe its the absurd # hours spent in game... a vast majority of them with PUGs ruining spawns... but even if someone (or some manys) is/are messing with spawns I've got a pretty decent understanding based on where the players are as to where the spawns are... uh... spawning?!?

Now...  If only I could predict lotto numbers in a simillar manner with even 1/2 the same accuracy....

I'm horrible with spawns, it's definitely the worst part of my game.  I often don't even pay attention between waves, I usually just focus on going to ammo boxes or taking out Turrets or Swarmers.  Yes, I'm a spawn-ruining PUG.

The one map I seem to get the most "spawn-fighting" about is Jade.  I prefer to sit to the left of the LZ, suppressing the spawn in the back hallway and making the spawn come up the stairs at the end of the hallway.  It gives the team good sightlines and RHA for all the enemies.  However, a lot of players like to go to the little platform down the stairs at the end of the hallway and make the enemies spawn on the opposite side of the map (esp. the control room on the opposite side).  This is stupid, because if somebody doesn't sit in the back hallway, the enemies will respawn there and you'll be flanked without a lot of cover.  So what usually happens is that I'll sit in the hallway and suppress that spawn so they don't get flanked for a couple of waves, then I'll get fed up and abandon my post, which gets the other people killed.

The RHA is crap in the upper lab. All those angled walls. Nope.

Two up top, NOT passing the tiny stairs to LZ, and two down low is smartest if playing campy.

I have places on every map where I can stand alone and block choke points. The team can usually handle everything in front if I can keep the back clear. These are usually places I found soloing or from youtube videos.

Like some other said, I just adapt to the position of my teammates. The only thing that bothers me is when spawns are being nuked in a moronic way on objectives or extraction. But I can't do much about it.

It doesn't matter much to me. I check everyone's position every wave and figure out where they'll spawn.

But it drives me crazy when pugs stand in the Glacier/White basement.

This...alot of times they run down there before the spawn can form so when they do go down there, the enemy ends up spawning behind you...i always wait at the top of that ramp and wait for them to spawn at the bottom and pick them off as they are coming up the ramp..unless you have a couple of Primes that are firing off rockets up at you...

I have to admit, I am a creature of habit and have a number of spawn patterns I prefer on almost every map.  I can get a little stubborn in my hopes that my PUGgy teammates will join me.  It usually costs me a few gels and ops packs before I grudgingly trudge over to the WRONG side of the map and play smart.

On certain maps (Glacier & White come to mind) most players know not to block the basement/rear of the map spawns. Beyond that though, it's a crap shoot, and I really don't consciously try to control spawns. I realize that I do it, but if a spawn is screwed up, oh well. Nothing a few extra bullets won't solve.

Some players  just do not have the experience to know where  spawn points occur on the various maps so they are going to mess things up occassionally. Theres always the next spawn to attack . AM or a fast character obviously helps.

The only time I got annoyed with a player was when an Edibot kept rushing down the ramp to the bottom LH corner ammo box in a game on Giant at the start of every wave.

I find grenade stealing Reegar toting Edibots annoying enough without also putting up with dumb spawn behaviour

Standing in the basement of white ticks me off cuz I camp on the ladder and snipe the mooks that spawn down there.

Offtopic - Hellman77 why did you have to ruin Legion's good image by ponyfying him?

Oh god yes... happens in 8 outta 10 games on white.

It's not just noobs though... it's people with 5000+ n7's and 60k challenge points...

I guess even stupid people can rank high then...

...

And yes... It IS stupid. Because it forces either an enemy spawn behind the classes that don't want close quarters combat or it forces a team mate to cover the spawn which more or less reduces the team firepower by 25 percent.

PS: It just happened to me again. It was apparently more important to the guy to outscore me with 3k points (basically the spawn nuke he did) than it was to potentially avoid the 5-6 extra incapacitations due to it. What a tool... Intelligence wise and/or morality wise...

I might add that players know how to position themselves on Hydra.

Usually its guys with Piranha GI that do this.

After they run down there all the mooks spawn behind me and it usually ends with me getting r4ped.

Where do I start a map?

Look for the three other teammates

Find out which areas of the map are unguarded by them

Run to those areas because that's where the spawn's gonna be

some maps is easier than others but I try to position myself to blow up one of the spam, I can peek at the position of the others Pugs across the map and guess which spam juicy meat is waiting for me...

Pretty much what Vrin said... ^^

If three people are going one way you're better off waiting for the respawn and going the other.

It becomes semi intuitive after a point which is impossible more me to explain but you just know where the enemy is likely to spawn.

Personally I'd rather wait the 5 seconds it takes for the enemy to show up than force a spawn behind the teams sniper or whatever class.

spawn ettiquette and ettiquette in general goes out the window when playing with friends :)

If i was playing with some friends, I would deliberately stand in places that would either give me the advantage or disadvantage them. Its all just friendly competition and for the lulz.
