This thread is for Jesse and the others who have been working on the new website. BioWare should know, I hope, that we do appreciate them and their efforts to get this site running smoothly.

Having said that, I like the new website and the overall layout, such as the colour scheme. I'm glad that they kept with the same sort of thing. I'll also point out a couple of things in particular that I like about the new website:

Multi-person messages! That's pretty awesome.

Also, showing in parentheses new, unread messages is good.

Usually with a new website or product, the feedback is more about things that need improving. I hope that others also include things they particularly like about the new website, which will also indicate things that don't need changing.

And some of the emoticons are quite cute. ^_^

Aha! I've seen that one in the 'groups joined' part of some user profiles I've checked out. I did think that was a good name. :)

I think this thread deserves more attention. Especially in times like these, it helps to remember how much we got in all the time this site has been up. It is only now that I noticed how much I like this site. Although my first approach was a sceptic one, I just said to someone else how much I miss commenting on my friends' news feeds, and knowing what they are doing etc. All these possibilities for communication and customization are truly awesome. And we just started.

It seems I am ready to join a certain group.

Why pat them on the back? Yes, the concept is great. The implementation is lacking. The "social network" seems almost an afterthought.

For the amount of money they had spent on producing this game, I would have expected the website to be completely finished by release.

I'll pat them on the back, but I'll wait until I can actually get to the items I've redeemed codes for and have user ID's fixed up before I go doing so.

If it never happens, well, I'll just go to the ACCC (Australia's consumer protection commission) given that I paid for collector's edition and I haven't been given all I paid for because of the poorly implemented site.

Great game, but so far the website and support are crap.

Sorry, Jesse, but it's simply the truth for me at present.

Fix it.

A group?

As for the other posts, please keep comments that aren't positive for another thread. That's why I put 'positivity' in the title, I would like this thread to stay on a positive approach. Feedback about a website is fine when it's constructive criticism, and this goes both ways, things you like about it and things you don't like about it. Of course, problems with the site fall into the second category, in which case a new thread should be made to report it anyway.

I'll have a better list of positives to add soon, I just need to finish writing it out. To balance this in the constructive criticism aspect, I'll also have a list of minor things for a 'suggestions' thread. It just doesn't need to be any big problems now since those are known and are being addressed.

Some things to be positive about:

* we've got 147k users who have successfully signed up so far

* we've added a new "send debug info" button on signup - go use that if you want us to fix your particular problem faster! :)

That many already? I know that's not like the member count at the original website, but this one is so new it seems huge already. Also, what date did this website go up? I've been wondering about that.

That signup addition is a great idea, and I think I'll point that out over at the other website help forum for the ones still having problems. Thanks! :)

Oh, I'll also add that I like the 'down for maintenance' page. I only saw it the once and so I can't really recall what it said, but I don't think that Swikky the dire squirrel was there. It was something else...

I hope they're feeding you guys lots of coffee and cookies over there.

I like the "Jump to" dropdown on the forums interface, especially the 'Your posts' and 'Subscribed topics' options. My topics on the old forums was easy to use but this one is even better.

Also i don't think the social network is/was an afterthought. The features are great, the customized feed (now disabled) on the homepage is awesome. Once we get everything sorted, we'll get an even better version of the site which is already awesome.

Thanks Bioware guys, for all your hard work!

I think the 147k signups is sweet 'problem' to have these days, even if not everyone has necessarily bought the game. :)

Positivity list:

The page width. I have a 17" monitor and if I scroll the page over to the far right, everything fits except the bar on the left, which I don't need to always be there anyway.

Avatars on the forum page, to see who last posted. People associate an avatar with a username. It's easier to see who last posted based on an avatar than it is a username. It's the same as when in an actual thread.

The 'jump to' drop-down menu. It's convenient having 'your posts' and 'subscribed topics' in there. It makes it easier to not lose a thread that might not have been posted in for a while.

The 'forum settings' option in the top-right of the page, for signature changes. I only just noticed this, actually, and I don't tend to change my signature, but it would be useful for others.

The member search section is convenient, and brings up groups as well. Similarly, so is the forum search, though it's currently offline.

The menu on the left of the page. It's spiffy. So is the orange text for links.

The 'recent activity' on the main page. It's fun to see what weird things random people are up to.

All of the profile stuff is pretty cool, but especially projects, albums, and blogs (and the main tab, where the biography is).

The 'quick reply' section in threads is very helpful.

The little icons in the 'recent activity' section, that show which action the activity was about. They add some character.

Messages being able to have more than two people in them. That is pretty neat.

The status in a user's profile (it'll be better though when it shows up in the recent activity section).

This is my first real foray into social sites so I can't really comment on how this site is better or worse than any other. I would like to add my voice to those expressiong appreciation for all the hard work.

It has already been said, but I have to say I like the idea of avatars showing up in the "last post" area of a topic description. It does help keep track of some folks better than just a username. I also like the idea of character based avatars.
