Who do I think it is? I am not sure... Who do I hope it is? Garrus. It would be incredible BIZARRE if BioWare gave FemShep an LI that was *not* a squadmate.

What if Joker is the Kelly Chambers equivalent? Then it wouldn't be weird at all.

That would be more than fine and welcome.  However, since Kelly Chambers is *not* an official LI (as confirmed via the Casey Hudson Best Buy chat), then that would mean Joker equivalent would not be an official LI either.  They'd be 'flings'/pseudo-romances.  And thus, still leaves open the third slot.

What if Garrus was the Kelly equivalent? Seems odd, since one is a squaddy and one is not, but it wouldn't be surprising. The malien romance role is filled by Thane, Garrus's anatomy makes an actual heavy romance nigh impossible, and Casey and the devs can still say they appeased the Garrus fans.

Since when was there a "malien romance role?" Why should we have just one option? And why in the world would they give Thane a full-fledged romance and resign Garrus to something like Kelly? It's extremely unlikely. Garrus romance, however, is as likely as anything. They've even altered his body model to fill him out, probably in an attempt to make him look more humanish in frame.

And, yeah, we wouldn't be appeased.

This. Thane is not Garrus' replacement. Thane is Thane. The Garrus fans don't want Thane, they want Garrus, and vice versa. Saying that we should be satisfied because we already have Thane for an alien romance would be like telling the Samara fans to shut up because they already have Liara.

Also, physically impossible to have sex with a turian? I highly doubt that, although I would be completely fine with a "talk it out" scene.

If a Turian can find attraction in an Asari - as quite easily evidenced by simply going into Chorra's Den - then why couldn't they find attraction in a human?

Not really. When he says "lines of romance and relationships" just plainly sounds like "long-distance relationship" and the hint from Casey Hudson about there being more than one character from ME1 as romance in ME2 is stronger than all you provided packed together. It actually confirms 2 or more characters that weren't romanceable in ME1 are in ME2 while all you really have is some foreign review that could have been poorly edited and something highly unconclusive about the Asari.

You've said nothing new here, and you still haven't posted anything about Garrus.  Even if all I had was that article, it's still better than your complete assumptions.

But it's not all I have so obviously your case is beyond weak.

How many characters form ME1 are back on your ship anc can be romanced? There's only Tali, Garrus and arguably Joker though Joker desn't qualify due to his brittle bone problem and his romance with EDI. My hint is a quite strong piece of evidence no matter how much you keep trying to deny it.

Now a translated foreign article is not. Translations don't fit right. For example if I said "Who the hell are you" in english and translated it into my native language the translation would be "Who hell is you". Plus you're dealing with separate sentences and jumping to conclusions. As for the little speech about the Asari....it says nothing about Samara....there are other asari you can sleep with and the continued Liara romance. By no means does it help with anything.

Hi. Image IPB

On Vrolik Syndrome: the Mass Effect First 12 Minutes video gamespot has up on YouTube implies that something has been done about Joker's condition.

Nothing is outright said, but the clearing of throats and the two guys chirping out “Spoilers!” leads me to believe that Joker's brittle legs might not be as much of an issue anymore.

Also, the interview with Seth Green doesn't discredit Joker as a romance. Since the developers weren't sitting behind the camera and asking the questions, I don't take what he says as: "Jeez, Developers! Thanks for making my character a robo-philiac. Image IPB"

Instead, what I hear is: "What? Image IPB Of course my character could only get with the computer! Thanks for the vote of confidence, random interviewer! Image IPB"

Seth Green clearly says Joker still has his Brittle Bone problem in ME2 and EDI is an AI. BioWare has for a very long time said that ME would pose difficult questions about the nature of life and love and so on. In the end let's face it. Joker and EDI have to smoothly and flawlessly work together since they are two sentient beings and that requires them to trust and understand each-other. Plus Joker had very little lines of dialogue in the first games leading most players to overlook him. There is just no room for Joker in a romance with the PC.

i think you're all forgetting that the 3rd(technically fifth) femshep romance should be a female. Why? Because it would be a horrible tragedy of sadness and death if femshep was stuck with a choice between 4 dudes and Liara. I mean, two or three playthroughs with Liara would be great, but after that the same dialogue over and over and over again gets boring.

And don't even try that "but Kaiden and Thane and Jacob and Garrus!" stuff because NO...just...no.

Has anyone thought that they may hold back one person as a romance, like Samara, to use as DLC later on down the road?

So? Maybe Tali falls in love with Legion. There's nothing but one jokingly-said line about Joker and EDI. Not exactly compelling evidence. Also, it has been said several times that Joker's roll has been expanded in ME2. So I see no reason to believe that Joker should be assumed to be out of the running.

God I hope not. Besides basically taxing people who want shepard to have a new lesbian romance, the DLC should be new characters/missions/equipment not new dialogue options.

I hope it's Samara and not Garrus. No offence to Garrus who I like, but my plan is to have my male Shep cheat on Liara and hook him up with Tali or SuZe and have my female Shep who doesn't have a LI hook up with Samara. I don't wantt my fem Shep with Thane, Garrus, Grunt, or Jacob. No offense to them, I like them all.

Not trying to be contrary, but that is speculation based on him pluralizing a single word. In the BestBuy Q+A he pluralized a lot of words, and if we took them all literally then we have confirmation of 4 romances for femshep already.

We really do have more evidence supporting Samara than Garrus, all told.

But we have alot more evidence for any of the females than any of the males. Infact there's really no evidence of it outside of what Casey said anyways.

And what he said was.. I think there's 3/3... That's pretty iffy right there. How can you not know? Also maybe he just doesn't consider Kelly an 'actual' romance because she's just an NPC, and not a teammate. For all we know she might have as much romancing ability as any of the other just without the potential to follow people around and get in fights with the other team

Since when do Joker and EDI have a romance subplot?

I'm pretty sure Seth Green just made some sort of joke about finally working with Tricia Helfer. I don't remember the exact wording.

Anyway, the last romance is most likely Samara or Garrus.

He didn't even state it as a "fact" sentence. He answered a question. If you noticed how he answered "Joker's only romance is with the computer? Thanks dude!"

Making it sound like someone off camera told him that jokingly. It wasn't serious or confirmation of any kind.

Well if it is true that there are only 3 teammate romance options for both genders than that means one of the popular teamates isn't going to have a romance. As Samara hasnt been 100% confimed then there is good chance it's her. But then why have her run around half naked? Just to get fans O.P.ed when they find out you cant romnace her? Or is to sell DLC later on.

Who knows, maybe the 3 per gender thing is just out dated info though.

Actually, he was responding to something the interviewer/guy working the camera was joking about.

Samara would be great, I bought the new 360mag today (came out yesterday in UK) and there was a pic of Samara with talk of romance right next to it. Call it a long shot but it seems a bit silly to blatantly put an image of a teammate that can't be romanced next to a big write up about LI's.

I might be way off. Fingers crossed though

Great news! Even more implication. A Dutch magazine also had the same thing except it specifically said "She is a romance option."
