And then you get to jump and twitch every single time you feel or think you feel something touching your skin.
Giant spiders - less of them this time?

I'm not in any way arachnophobic, but I do think Bioware has overused giant spiders in the last two Dragon Ages. Can't we at least get giant bugs from some other class of arthropod? Hell, I'd settled for giant scorpions just for the chance to see something different.

Sadly, I know my 'phobia'(I hate calling it that since my fear is not irrationally based) will never leave RPGs, or even gaming in general. Why does everything have to use fire? ![]()

Giant spiders don't bother me but DAI has a creature that is scarier, apparently. I'm not sure what that could be.
Some giant cockroaches would be a nice surprise though!

Actually, the bigger the spider the better. Giant spiders can't hide in your shoes, or something. And giant spiders look awesome.

And just think....As graphics improve the rpg developers will keep up with the giant spiders...
I can stomach the ones in games right now. But if it gets worse, I guess that means no more rpgs for me.
What if they shift to giant ants? I think a giant Mantis would be a lot more menacing than a giant spider.

As long as they don't include giant wasps the size of grizzly bears I'll be fine xD

A reasonable approach for a new fantasy setting. But removing Giant spiders from Thedas now in the third installment because of arachnophobia would be kind of crazy. By now they are established in the lore and it would just be stupid to suddenly replace them all with giant insects.
But I'm all for a spider-free,Giant Mantis plagued fantasy world somewhere down the future.

I don't mind spiders, just as long as they leave me alone. Though wolf spiders do freak me out a bit. My husband got back from Bahrain in December after a 7 month deployment, and was telling me about the camel spiders there (similar to the ones with the dude in the fatigues above). Apparently they'd chase you! But not because they wanted to eat your face, they just wanted to stand in your shadow because it was hot
Made me feel kind of bad for them, even though they're absolutely terrifying looking!
I honestly don't like the ones in ANY game because they all have the same death animation, they flip over with their legs up in the air. Ugh...

It's funny. I'm absolutely terrified of spiders in real life. Small ones, big ones, even dead ones, but spiders in games? Nope. Not even the giant ones in Skyrim bothered me. I could watch it scurry across the ground in my computer's screen and be all, "Whatever!" but if I see it scurry across outside of the screen? I scream like a little girl and beg and plead with anyone nearby to kill the damned thing. If I'm all alone, well... I'm screwed. Can you believe my own cats won't dispatch the bugger? They just stare at it for a millisecond, then turn around and walk off with their tail held high like, "Biatch, ain't no way in hell I'm touching one of those things! I don't get paid enough chicken nibbles for that ****." Cats, man. Gotta love 'em.
TL;DR, bring 'em on! I'll gladly take on as many spiders as BW wishes to include in Inquisition. My Dalish Inq would love nothing more than to roast these critters over an open fireball.

Hopefully you get a spider pet, like Lis in Skyrim.

So cliche at this point. Different arthropods would be appreciated. Something disgusting like centipedes.

Don't mind the spiders. I just don't wanna be caught in a web all the time... All those web traps in DA:O drove me mad.

Reminds of tweet from Evil Chris a few months back...
From Chris Priestly:
As an arachnophobe there is something about the eyes, legs & palps that always gives me the jibblies when we put giant spiders in our games.
And this game, there is something even worse.

Will giant spiders now burst after death and spawn millions of regular spiders that suffocate the party with their sheer masses? ![]()

I want more spiders! Lots and lots of them. So I can cry like Ron Weasley every time they come out and attack.

My only problem with giant anything in WRPGs is that they always look generic, They are literally just [insert creature] at an increased scale, as opposed to something like this.

I'm good, so long as they don't improve the walking animation. I can't abide the way those creepy eight legged monstrosities move. If they ever get that right I'm going to be chanelling some bad martial arts movies and fighting blindfolded.

Worst than spiders, by far.

We need more giant insects. Bring on the radscorpions and cazadors!
