Well how do you know that old gods did it not just tevinter in their name?As far we know that dumat was 1 who tricked tevinter but how do we know what with other old gods.We don't know much about them besides what chantry who is already hostile toward old gods.Unless it is done cheap that every of them must be "evil" like tevinter every of them could have own personality.And even then it is soul you take not personality or views of them.

I just hope that the OGB will have a darkish role to play within whatever side plot it is involved in. The player got the reward of their warden living in DAO and i would like to see some element of the price being extracted.

Well defend is too big word but it was more stating facts we don't know what old god were and what personality they had so can we rly say that old gods were hostile or malicious or if we can put them to all gods not just 1 specific.I rly hope there is more to them than "roar i will make you my slave little human and i will eat your family" i would like if one of them reminded parthurnax dragon in skyrim (crap i hate those names ).And well i doubt that old gods were ticking bombs like mages so if they would stay away or even be allies i wouldn't mind unless they were others things that we don't know about them.

When i doubt that will have positive outcome simple because it would be pure profit it that didn't had any i don't think that automatically make it "evil" yet i think with morrigan views and probably she will be only influence on that child will have i can't see nothing good rising from that child.

It's a fair point. The only one we have any evidence liked to troll the younger races was Dumat. However, they were all worshipped, and if Dumat could communicate, it stands to reason the rest could as well. If they didn't want Dumat's little prank to happen, it was within their power to stop it.

The problem I have with the "you're only taking the soul, not the personality etc" line of thought is that we're talking about a being that transfers its soul, motivations, identity and all, between bodies every time it is killed. All the DR appears to do is hijack the process, putting the Old God in body C instead of body B. And regardless, it's still going into a tainted vessel.

And we both agree nothing good is likely to result from giving a child to Morrigan.

Well not every of them had to be goody-two shoes some of them would be indifferent and don't care about being worshiped and that what tevinter were doing in their name.Some of them didn't had to know what dumat was planing or know but they couldn't stop that. It is hard to say because now we can only speculate about their personality it could be as you said that every of them was rather malicious but i rly hope for more types of personalities than archdemon mindset.

 

Well technically it is child i doubt s/he have own personality and current personality was archdemon so it was rather power of old god and will require upbringing like every other child so i guess what kind of personality will have ogb would depend upon the parent and upbringing but with morrigan as only influence on his views it can end only badly unless the warden that have moral standards (romanced morrigan ending) was involved in her/his upbringing in which i doubt as it would require multiple scenarios.

Back in my day, genins didn't have shurikens. They had to throw meteorites at each other.
