Story
 

In the explosive finale to the Arkham series, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. Well, it appears someone messed up:
 

An early GAME UK retail leak has spoiled today's big Batman reveal: it's Batman: Arkham Knight, the final game in the Arkham series, and it'll be out this year for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

Last week, GameStop started receiving marketing materials for Arkham Knight, which match up with the box art above. This will be the third Batman game by Rocksteady, the studio behind Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Last year's Arkham Origins was developed by WB Montreal.

Looks like the Batmobile is driveable, and Scarecrow will be the main villain. Seems like there's no current-gen version, which is good news, as they won't have to scale down anything to fit into old hardware.

Rumors have swirled about Rocksteady's next Batman game for quite some time now, after Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy accidentally mentioned that he was working on an Arkham game that was not Origins.

I don't normally get hype for video games, but I'm really excited for the actual reveal today to see what they show us. I've wanted a driveable Batmobile and Scarecrow main antagonist since the first game, so to see it might be becoming a reality is exciting. Not to mention that box art is amazing.

Really excited to see more of the psychological effects the Joker's death has on Batman too. That was one of the best parts of the Harley Quinn DLC.

Excited no ! not anymore  since too much crap have been released last year or well rather the last years but i'm WAY more optimistic now when Rocksteady is developing it so i really hope it turns out to be a good game and if it's then it's an easy buy.

 

On a side note: WB can shove their Origin dlc up their arses ! worst purchase of last year.

Incredibly excited. Hopefully Hush will be one of the main antagonists - Oh, and for heck sake Rocksteady. Bring back Paul Dini and don't have as many antagonists as in City.

Wait, but they said that this is the final game, not the final game in Chronollogical order, which means it can be after Origins or Arkham City

I was still under the impression Rocksteady were developing a game set with Batman's first encounter with the Joker and it would have featured a few members from Justice League. Seems they decided to scrap that idea and develop the sequel instead.

I loved the Rocksteady developed Batman games!

 

I really hope (and I know I am probably in the minority here) that this game has co-op multiplayer. I know that some people will point to Batman: Arkham Origins and say that MP won't work, but that was competitive MP, and Rocksteady is a better developer then WB. It would just feel like such a letdown to not have some form of co-op, especially since Arkham City introduced us to Robin, Nightwing, and Catwoman as allies.

I was a tiny bit disappointed that we got a FMV trailer instead a gameplay one but at the end of the day it still got excited about this game. I would love to see what Rocksteady can accomplish on next gen hardware.

You get to play as Harley? Ah, great, get to hear Tara Strong's annoying impression of Arleen Sorkin all day then. Would have preferred Catwoman again. :/

 

Unless it's just the challenge maps. Why no Batgirl, Rocksteady? Anyway, I know this is Rocksteady we are talking about but the fact that it's apparently releasing only a year after Origins has me in stitches. I'm gonna assume they've been working on the game longer than that and we get to play a polished inovative NEW experience this time.
