Wasn't the Knight's identity to be a completely original character though?
Well technically the Arkham Knight itself is a new character.
Doesn't really matter who's behind the mask ![]()

Apperantly Wayne Tower and the GCPD serve as the "Batcave" in this game.

I'm calling it now. Its either Jason Todd or Ra's Al Ghul.
I'd been thinking that maybe Ra's Al Ghul had a son we didn't know about. I remember there was an episode back in The Animated Series in which we were introduced to one of his sons whom was an old man in a wheel chair, maybe Rocksteady took from that.
Whoever the Arkham Knight is, he has to be backed by lots of money and his forces seem to use swords. Guess who meets those requirements....

- Forced use of the Batmobile puts a damper on fun and freedom
- Ham-fisted dialogue and predictable reveals damage the story
Should have let Paul Dini stay onboard instead of hiring a bloke from Crysis to do the writing.

Exactly, the game would have only benefit from Paul Dini being on board. It was such a boneheaded decision to get rid of him, if you ask me.

I'm reading the GameSpot review since it's the one that gives AK the worst rating so far (7/10). I'll leave you the bullet points.
The Bad:
http://www.gamespot....w/1900-6416169/
- Monotonous encounters and mediocre boss fights hurt the second half
Hm... I think that's one Point WB Games did good in Batman: Arkham Origins... The boss fights.

Dear God, now I'm worried about the boss fight. There better be some good stealth ones. Rocksteady has to top Mr.Freeze or I'll be sad.

I hope we don't see Mr. Freeze as an enemy, because he had a somewhat happy ending and okay relationship with Batman by the end of Arkham City. Let the man rest or bring him back as an ally and have Batman and Co come up with a cure for his wife during Arkham Knight or in between Arkham City and Arkham Knight.

Poison Ivy, Two Face & Penguin are among the central characters so it doesn't strike me as too surprising given they always had the weakest boss fights and the Penguin is generally just an irritating character at this point. It's a shame too since I like Dent and Ivy. Makes me wish that Gordon Jr. was in this game.. Hopefully Hush is still in it.

I want Two Face to get more spotlight because he was a nothing in Arkham City, but I've had enough of Bane and the Penguin (especially the Penguin). I am as positive that Hush is in the game as I can be without knowing anything of the story. I say this because Scarecrow likely got surgery from him and there are also so canisters of Fear Gas in Hush's hideout in Arkham City. I just hope that Ventriloquist is in the game.

Arnold Wesker is dead in the Arkham-verse, as Peyton Riley is the new Ventriloquist which she became in the comics after the death of Wesker. It'll also explain why Joker got a hold of the Scarface doll. Good point about Hush -- Rocksteady has a habit of leaving sequel bait around in their games and actually pursue them.

One plus point though is that most review praise the game for beign quite bug-free.
I just hope the pc version is really optimized.
Because Arkham City was a joke.

Doesn't have to be Mr.Freeze. I've always hoped we get a stealth boss fight while infected with fear toxin.

They've reused too many ideas. Scarecrow unleashing a fear toxin on the city...again? And it sounds like the Batmobile was shoe horned in. *sigh*
They should have kept it more noir and less high tech. And cramming all the old villains in every game gets dull.

I guess it is a good thing I did not have high expectations for this game, despite being a big fan of Batman.
I primarily was very vary of this game due to the numerous pre-order and DLC exclusive BS they have going on so I planned to get Arkham Knight when they released an edition with all the DLCs and bugfixes bundled up in it with a discount.
Now evidently, the story in the second half is average and the boss fights are not impressive.
Perks of not having a having high expectations - You are rarely disappointed.

I don't really get why there is so much hype towards this game.
I mean, Asylum was very good. Then came City, which changed the formula by going with an open world. After that came Origins, which was basically City 2.0. And now we have Knight, which seems to be City 3.0, only with Batmobile.
I enjoyed pretty much all previous entries (although I forced myself a bit when it came to playing Arkham Origins) - however there is only so much repetition you can stand. All those games have the same mechanics, and while City managed to keep it fresh by being more open and introducing many sidequests and investigations, I doubt this can go on.
Sadly, it reminds me of Assassin's Creed. Every game basically feels the same, only in a different setting (with exception of Black Flag, which gave you a ship, which was a major part of gameplay).
And while Arkham Knight is probably a very good game on it's own (just as many Assassin's Creed games are very good), I'd rather get hyped for a new IP or for a franchise that makes meaningful innovations and varies their gameplay, rather than be exited about more of the same (just polished and slightly improved).
Also, I have to concur with Gamespot, when they speak about Batman not killing people. He definitely killed people in previous entries with some of his finishing moves (crushing a guy's throat with a shield? you are not even trying Batman...), and he definitely kills them in this game (based on what I saw in trailers and gameplays).

Batman's rule of not killing is very flawed. So long as the person still breaths, he can pat himself on the shoulder.
The condition they are in however doesnt matter to him.
Should have just made the Joker a paraplegic during their second encounter. He would have saved himself and Gotham a lot of grief.

Yeah for some reason he always spares Joker, but never has a problem with making his henchmen crippled.
