Dear oh dear

This is 2015 FFS. The year when information is spread amongst the masses faster than ever, and the year when Steam introduced REFUNDS. WTF?!?!? Did Warner B really think they can get away with this nonsense?

agamemnon-o.gif

its ok, this is the last batman game. Any more sequels and it gets the COD award.

I think WB Montreal is gonna milk the crap out of this since they can just reuse AK's engine like they reused AC's engine, but it doesn't matter, as long as Rock steady gets to move on and hopefully switch to a less aggressive publisher for their next project.

Pitiful...  I would have a few words for anyone okay with this and please do not say anything about 'waiting for a patch.'

"How dare people expect a working game on release!"

It's moments like these which renew my complete cynicism for the AAA gaming behemoth.

If this is for real, that douche should lose his job. How dare people pre-ordering a game months in advance expect it to work, and at the listed system requirements...without the dev raising said requirements after release. Troubleshooting my ass. You can't trouble shoot gimped visuals or sh*t FPS drops. Rocksteady just f*cked their reputation big time over this. I've got no sympathy for them.

I'm not sure if it's the same person, could just be a coincidence honestly. Talking about NeoGAF here. Ryan and Moore aren't exactly the rarest names. So it could be same name but different people. But it did make me laugh.

Then again if this is real, it explains this:

State of the industry in terms of quality is pitiful. It is almost as if we are back in the software depression

I disabled the FPS lock and I can play at a relatively stable 60 fps with a TwinFrozr GTX 980. It uses over 40% of my 16g of RAM and keeps my CPU at 40C. An absolute hog of a game. TW3 is basically half as taxing on hardware. Not as graphically intensive, but the mojo CDPR used to optimize is insane compared to this game.

Looks decent enough on his stream. But he has something like SLI 980s or higher.

Although apparently PC port is missing features present on PS4 (sic!). Namely rain drops on Batman's suit and Ambient Occlusion.

So...yeah.

But those smoke effects in AJ's stream look sweet.

It's not the actual Warner Bros guy.

Though the latest official WB post said little more than "have you tried the graphics options?" which is hilarious.

So which version of Nvidia driver sucks now that also will affect future games like AK?

Mine is 347.88. It's only unstable with Java programs.

I just checked the Neogaf forums and can say those aren't photoshops, though the pictured response from PetriP-TNT has been censored by a moderator and the user been banned (I didn't check his post history to see if any infractions were the reason or if he got banned for pointing out the apparent connection between the pictured account and Ryan Moore).

Now, I'm not familiar with Neogaf and things work over there, nor could I say with certainty that TheMadMan007 really is the WB guy and not another, unaffiliated Ryan Moore or whatever, but it does paint a pretty damning image that really only leads to one very unprofitable conclusion regarding WB (and Neogaf).

And he's running on 720p resolution if the blurb in the title isn't being misinterpreted by me. And I still just heard him say there's a couple fps dips ... that's quite impressive. You really have to work hard to botch up a game so hard that it dips even on 720p on any remotely up-to-date system. I mean, that's significantly lower resolution than the consoles run at. I don't know what system he's playing on, but to have worse performance than current consoles, oh boy ... that's not even funny if you run it on a 500 bucks budget PC.

So, probably won't end up playing the game for months, but I watched the main  story on YouTube (Because I lack self restraint like that)

I would say to someone who is interested to not buy the game until it has been sufficiently patched and it'd probably be a good idea to wait for a sale just to spite them.

PetriP-TNT was banned for posting a LinkedIn profile. That can do nothing but harm.

With the shitty state of software and the industry, this should be the norm

He has quite a beast of a machine as far as I know. Either double or triple 980s, powerful i7 and 32 GB RAM. A high-end gaming PC.

Apparently there's memory leakage problems in the game - after a while you get horrible stuttering, probably because system runs out of VRAM.

Now that's just really bad programming.

There seems to be real problems with texture streaming (textures load forever or not at all), and I already mentioned missing features - people on neogaf saw that PC port is missing rain textures on Batman's mask and ambient occlusion (there is no ambient occlusion at all, while PS4 version seems to have SSAO).

A 30 fps lock that cannot be changed in game, you must edit ini file. You cannot disable horrible motion blur - if you edit ini files, the game crashes. If you enable SLI it somehow makes the performance worse, than running it on a single card (apparently, if you have 2 cards, it's best to run it on single one, a set the second as dedicated PhysX processor).

What a mess...

Also, the backlash is really brutal - 1.4 on Metacritic, 32% on Steam.

I love the part where he tells people to install the lastest drivers.

Because thats obviously something people didn't think of.

Developers always treat gamers like they are idiots who can't figure stuff out themselves.
