Rocksteadys doing it, so this might actually be, y'know. Good.

I'll hold my hype for now though, Origins sucked.

Thanks, I thought there was a time gap, but didn't find anything when I looked around for it.

I realize that - Which is why I said "I'm gonna assume they've been working on this for a while". Given that it is announced so soon after Origins makes it worrisome as you can imagine. Rocksteady is fantastic, but no game developer is perfect. The fact they use the same design of the Bat-suit as in Origins also has me in stitches. I kinda like it though (being one of the only things I liked about that game). However, it just feels a bit weird in terms of the games chronology. I hope sincerely this game has improved a lot/ evolved a lot from Arkham City and it doesn't have as many villains as that game because it turned the story into a mess.

I think it they tried to tie it in with the title, so that Batman gets more of a Knight-y feel. In the trailer I kinda go that vibe of him  being the one Knight with the dedication, tenacity, will and all that to protect Gotham, to be the one thing that stands between Gotham and its destruction.
It looks lighter though and better to move around in.
On the other hand, I do like that Origins implies that Batman matured into wearing his underwear on the outside though.

I do hope to see "the good and great men who stand up for Gotham when others turn and run", just to show that there still are some civilians and cops who refuse to hand Gotham over so easily.

The new trailer where the letter is being read in Thomas Waynes voice is the letter Bruce recieved at the end of Flashpoint from Flash where he meets Thomas wayne in a parallel timeline before he restores the DC universe and creates the new-52.

After all this time, I wondered what the letter said that made Batman cry, and now we know!

How do you know this? You better be lying -- New 52 is shite. Don't want to see Oracle being magically cured by magic, and all the other shite retcons it brought to the world.

Since crime has decreased in Gotham because of Joker's death - I really hope they will touch the subject wether Batman is still needed. It would be awesome if they ended the Arkham games with Bruce finally retiring as Batman and continue to help Gotham as the billionaire. But this time without having to hide behind the Batman persona.

I was still under the impression Rocksteady were developing a game set with Batman's first encounter with the Joker and it would have featured a few members from Justice League. Seems they decided to scrap that idea and develop the sequel instead.

Hm... WB did that in Arkham Origins.

It does indeed look like Montreal took the helm of the development process and made Origins, while Rocksteady decided to develop Knight instead. Nothing wrong with that, though I would have loved seeing Rocksteady's take on Justice League members and the Silver Age period they were hinting at.

Here is some info from the GameInformer issue:

-No multiplayer

Man, well that sucks.

Every since Arkham City I have been wanting to play the Iceburg Lounge co-op. Fighting back to back, doing co-op takedowns, co-op counters, and having the sheer awesomeness of Robin fighting alongside Nightwing. Why must you crush my dreams Rocksteady? Why?!

I am still pumped about the game, but I would be lying if I said that I didn't have a little wind knocked out of my sails.  :(

I wonder if Bane will make an appearance in Arkham Knight, alongside the other villains? If he does, I hope that he is not regulated to the 'idiot strongman' that he was in Asylum and Arkham City.

Say what you will about Arkham Origins, but it at least played Bane to his comic book strengths; which is a whole lot more than "Bane Smash!"

Here is some info from the GameInformer issue:

-New batsuit

-Gotham City split into three islands, overall area five times the size of Arkham City

-Increased top glide speed and hang time for Batman

-Takes place one year after Arkham City

-Amount of on-screen thugs is "three to four" times the amount from Arkham City

-Kevin Conroy is back as Batman, along with Nolan North as Penguin, Troy Baker as Two-Face, Tara Strong as Harley Quinn, and Wally Wingert as Riddler; Commissioner Gordon and Oracle also return

-Grapple Gun gets a Mark II boost upgrade

-Quickfire gadgets can be used during flight

-Batmobile can be summoned to your location

-No multiplayer

-A new, entirely original villain for Batman

-Yay! Batsuit

-See what they did there? Arkham City... Remember that Arkham City was just ONE island of Gotham, right? It could be the same, or even a little bit bigger than Arkham Origins Map

- Top Speed? HA!

-One year... Let's see how that turns out...

-Of course... Because they can... See, I think that was the limitation for the old gen consoles(PS3, XBOX...)

-Kevin Conroy? Who voiced Batman in Arkham Origins again??

-Wonder how that will turn out...

-Makes sense... Especially if you accidently glide to one location after hitting spacebar to run

- Can it be used to run over thugs?

-No MP. Yup. It's Rocksteady. Also, they said they wanted to focus on the history. Yah, nice way to do it. (No sarcasm)

- I've saw it already... It's the

Roger Craig Smith voiced Batman in Arkham Origins, MegaIllusiveMan, and I thought he did a damn fine job. I'm glad Conroy's back, though. Same with Troy Baker. They had to give him some kind of VA role after his performance as the Joker in Arkham Origins.

I couldn't care less about MP or co-op, so that's no skin off my back. I'm just glad Arkham City is getting a sequel. I'm can't wait to see where they go after the events of that game.

Wait a second, that doesn't make sense.
The beginning starts with "In the event of my death. I hereby declare that all my worldly possessions pass to my son Bruce Wayne."
Since Thomas knows that him and Martha died in that timeline, giving Flash that letter would be redundant instead of making a new one after Flash restored his hope and chance to do a final thing for Bruce.
In Flashpoint, Flash told Thomas Wayne that Bruce was Batman. Asking Flash to revert things back to normal, he should expect Bruce to be Batman again, and he also told Martha Wayne that he had a chance to bring their son back to life at the cost of their own but that he would be Batman.
But if we disrergard the comics and focus on the Flashpoint movie instead, the letter clearly ends with "...fight for what we lost. Love always, your father Thomas Wayne."
So I don't see why he'd ask Bruce to not be frivolous and such.

Nah, Troy Baker previously voiced Two-Face in Arkham City so it was basically inevitable that he would reprise his role, and not solely coming back b/c of his performance in Origins.

Love it! Its easy to vet excited over a CGI trailer. I hope game play approaches this quality. Also pleased that this is only on the new consoles/PC.

What part of that letter points to the fact that it is related to that shite comic? Is it identical to what he says in the comic? Rocksteady has made it clear before that the Arkham verse is based on the original comic canon, where Barbara is Oracle etc.
