I basically prefer Jedi outcast to KOTOR, such was my enjoyment of the combat.

 

It's probably still to this day the best combat in a star wars game and compared to most AAA games today? Sure.

On this, we can agree -- The way it infused acrobatic movements with lightsaber combat was great. It made you feel like a legendary unstoppable warrior magician rather than merely piloting one by remote control.

I spent probably spent 2 months straight in the online multiplayer for that game after having basically gotten addicted.

I tried the multiplayer back during the early days of the Xbox 360 where I got the Xbox version -- It was mostly me swinging my lightsaber up and down like a mental person, trying to learn the correct prompts for the acrobatic moves and lightsaber swings. It didn't always go too well But it was fun.

 

I remember, when I first saw the reveal of the Force Unleashed I thought "Wow, could this be the successor to Jedi Knight that I've been waiting for?", but no -- It was anything but that. The lightsaber was nothing more than a cosmetic showing which you COULD use in game if you're boring and don't feel like flinging endless supplies of couch tables at enemy stormtroopers and watching them all die of broken shins.

 

I do go back and play the story mode every now and then on Steam when I feel like it.

fun tidbit, nobody knew what Batman sounded like until Kevin Conroy voiced him. They wanted to make Batman sound like clint eastwood, but Conroy was like "Nah, his parents are too dead to be a cowboy."

Batman that was slowing rising on that rooftop? Some say it was Azreal, but I doubt that since in my playthrough he left Gotham to go find his manipulators.
